In the closing moments of The 100 Season 3 Episode 1, Clarke wound up in the hands of the fearsome bounty hunter, Roan.
Somehow, this terrifying-looking dude just knew that Clarke’s lady friend Niylah was lying about Clarke’s whereabouts when he came by the trading post earlier, and recognized red-headed Clarke as the “Wanheda” he was looking for.
In these early photos for The 100 Season 3 Episode 2, we see that Monty, Indra, Bellamy, and Kane are actively on the hunt for Clarke. Indra alerted them that the Grounders are looking to kill “Wanheda” and absorb her supposed “Commander of Death” powers.
Their search, unfortunately, doesn’t look like it will be an easy one.

Kane will be searching for Clarke, along with Monty, Bellamy, and Indra… and just about everyone else on the show. Who will find Clarke first? Her friends… or one of her many foes?
Kane Calms Bellamy Down – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
Bellamy is looking a little rough as well. He’s sweaty, his hair is (adorably) tousled, and he’s got a bit of blood on his face. And what is he wearing? That doesn’t look like typical Arker gear. Kane’s hand on Bellamy’s shoulder indicates that he’s either calming Bellamy down or trying to restrain him. Like we said: this mission is a dangerous, high-tension one.
Monty Talks to Bellamy – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
Monty chats with Bellamy here. Monty might not have been the first choice for Bellamy’s second in command on this mission. He’s not particularly known for his battle skills, but by joining Bellamy in meeting up with Kane and Indra in the premiere, his participation in the search for Clarke was sealed. We really hope that no harm comes to Monty on this dangerous hunt!

Indra Joins The Search – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
Indra joins Monty, Bellamy, and Kane in searching for Clarke. Indra’s own motivations in searching for Clarke are still a bit murky, though. She explained that Clarke is considered “Wanheda,” Commander of Death, by the Grounders, and that many are seeking to kill Clarke and absorb her power. Is Indra’s quest to find Clarke more altruistic? We hope so.
Roan and Unconscious Clarke – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
Roan kneels over Clarke, who appears to be unconscious. We’re guessing that this might be soon after he catches her sneaking out of Niylah’s bed at the trading post, because her hair is still very much red.
Roan Looking Fearsome – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
This guy looks straight up TERRIFYING. We thought we’d seen some scary-looking Grounders in the first two seasons, but Roan the bounty hunter may very well take the cake. Just looking at him, you can tell that he’s ruthless.

Oh! So that’s how Clarke’s hair reverts to its natural blonde. You can see the remnants of her red “dye” clinging to the ends. Seems that Clarke’s disguise was just a temporary hair color, and that Roan may have dunked her in the water to make a positive identification. I’m sure the mythical “Wanheda” is known for her striking blonde hair among those searching for her.

At the end of the season premiere, Roan the bounty hunter finally got his hands on Clarke. Looks like she hasn’t managed to escape from him.
Roan and Clarke Crouching – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
Who are Roan and Clarke hiding from? It appears that the bounty hunter is attempting to keep his catch out of sight of someone nearby. Is it another group also searching for Clarke to kill her and absorb Wanheda’s power? Or is it Clarke’s friends trying to rescue her? Clarke is gagged and Roan has a hand to her collar, so even if it was friend rather than foe, chances are she could’t alert them.
Roan Leads Clarke – The 100 Season 3 Episode 2
Roan has Clarke bound by the hands and gagged and is leading her along somewhere. Where is he taking our heroine? Will they make it there, or will someone else intercept them and either rescue Clarke or steal her for themselves? Plus, check out Roan’s injured right hand on the tree. Seems that our girl may have put up a fight when he first tried to take her.
