Mad Men Series Premiere Ratings Sink to Lowest Since 2008

It means nothing for the future of the series, but it's still worth noting:

The Mad Men Season 7 premiere aired last night to only 2.3 million total viewers, a 30 percent drop compared to the Season 6 opener and the least-watch Mad Men premiere since 2008.

The AMC series, of course, is already in its final season, as seven episodes will air this year and seven more in 2015.

So the ratings mean very little, except to likely prove that Matthew Weiner, AMC and company made the right decision to end the drama before it grew stale in the eyes of viewers.
