NCIS Season 11 Episode 5 Recap: Once a Crook

During the investigation of the killing of Navy Petty Officer Andrew Wells, Tony spots Anton Markin – a police informant he hasn’t seen in 15 years.   He initially thinks that the Anton is a hallucination – because he hasn’t had any sleep for four days.  Wells had been participating in the selling of counterfeit computers, along with another man – who happened to be Marie Markin’s (Anton’s sister) husband.  15 years ago, Tony had convinced Anton to act as an informant on the mob.   However, in realizing that the mobster (named Victor) knew what he was up to, Anton suspected he was going to be killed.  In order to save himself, he had murdered the Victor’s brother after which he fled,  only to come back to town 15 years later to comfort his sister on the death of her husband.  In order to have his revenge on Anton, Victor had Marie kidnapped while Wells was with her.  Turns out Wells was in the wrong place a the wrong time, which is why he was killed.  Tony and Gibbs pay a visit to the bakery where Marie worked and arrested Well’s killer, as well as discovering Marie’s location and rescuing her.
