When Jess receives a speeding ticket, she enlists the help of Julia, Nick’s latest romantic interest who also happens to be a lawyer. Julia brings up Jess’ quirks and offends Jess by suggesting that her behavior is all an act. This doesn’t stop Julia from asking Jess if Nick is seeing other people. Angry at Julia, Jess mentions this to Nick. He and Julia lie to each other saying they’re both seeing other people even though they want to be exclusive. Julia pieces it together that Jess told Nick and she confronts Jess. Their argument ends with Julia, Jess, and Nick all crying in separate bathrooms or hallways. Later, Julia stops by to apologize to Jess and tells Nick she wants to be exclusive.
