It happened. Thomas was executed, but not by soldiers. It was Cyrus. Because of Jacob and me, maybe. But I did get to talk to him, have a final goodbye. Oh, Thomas, he gave me these [shows him the coins].

Kat

I want you to choose me.

Elliot: I think the pond won’t bring you forward from your timeline into the future, but it can bring you back from your existing one. Think about it. The pond is all about reflection, looking at what has happened, and learning from it. So, why would it show you your future? It wouldn’t.
Alice: So, hypothetically, you could go back.

Kat: As perfect as Alice is, I just needed a break. Brady’s this amazing dad, but maybe he’s too amazing. I just feel like I can’t do anything right. I don’t know who I am anymore, El. My career’s flatlined, I’m lonely at home all day, and I just feel trapped. I’ve lost myself in being a mom, and I think it’s made me a terrible one.
Elliot: Listen, Kat. You are going to be an incredible mother, and you are going to raise an amazing daughter whose love for you is beyond words. She’ll grow up to not only be your daughter, but your best friend.

Elliot: Kat. Kat. Stop! You know you can’t prevent this, right?
Kat: I can at least say goodbye.

Nick: I don’t know, man. It all just feels really cruel. Did a part of you feel special having this secret, watching everyone else be oblivious and so naive? Did it make you feel smarter?
Elliot: I hated having to carry this secret.
Nick: Sorry, man, but I don’t buy it. I think you liked feeling superior, and you know who that reminds me of? Victor.

Nick: So Alice was named after herself.
Elliot: Yep!
Nick: Kat didn’t realize her kid looked exactly like her friend until last year?
Elliot: Mm-hm.
Nick: And Del still doesn’t see it.
Elliot: Yeah.
Nick: I mean, how?
Elliot: You didn’t see it either. Memories are fickle. They fit the story we tell ourselves about life.

Kat: I wanted to go to London with you. I don’t remember very much from that night, but on that staircase, I saw you, El, and I felllll a bit in love, and I’m sorry I turned so cold afterwards. I was scared, embarrassed, and just a dumb kid.
Elliot: A dumb kid who was really going to run away with me, huh?
Kat: Yeah. But, much like that kiss the other night, it ended before it began.
Elliot: I meant that kiss, Kat, but I want us to be on the same page. No more secrets.

Elliot: You need to hide right now. She has not seen you in seven years, and, no offense, but you look like you're 12.
Alice: Yeah, well, don't think that that scraggly excuse for a beard you've got going on is doing you any favors.

Kat: So apart from trying to save my brother in the 19th century, I also have to have a newspaper printed and published, which means that I have to find all the photographs and all of the article and put everything together by tonight, and I just can’t. I am, I am exhausted.
Elliot: I’ll get the edition out. Just tell me what needs to be done.
Alice: Yeah, I-I’ll help.
Elliot: Come on. Forget about the paper, Kat. We’ll handle it. This is your little brother. You need to do whatever you can to make sure he’s safe.

Elliot: Why does this keep happening to us? You used another member of my family!
Kat: No, you have been a very willing part of this, OK? Even when I tried to keep you out of it, you came to me. You remember that.
Elliot: Don't you see what bringing Susana in on this will do to her? I can say from experience it will literally ruin her life, Kat!
Kat: Just stop! You hide behind your talk of rules and the pond having its reason, but you have never lived it, so don't you dare judge what you can't understand. I don't know why you were always in such a mood on Founder's Day, but how about you stop taking your family's insecurities out on me?!

Kat: Oh, I thought we were reliving our youth here. Kid Elliot never asked me to dance.
Elliot: Oh, he should've.
