Burgess: I'm not trying to. I feel something for this kid, I do. I feel close to her.
Ruzek: I understand. But just yesterday we're talking about trauma and you told me how that's not real, right?
You're a good kid who was dealt a bad hand...and you played it wrong. Miguel, you're still young. This is still your life.

Burgess: So is this part of our relationship now? We're accepting that every six months or so, we sleep together?
Ruzek: It'd be real alright with me. Or we could try the version where we sleep together on the regular.
Burgess: What version is that?
Ruzek: That would be called dating. We already act like a couple. Is it so crazy that we try again?
Burgess: Yup.

Burgess: Because, uh, I think I know what I want now.
Ruzek: Fine.
Burgess: I want all of it, Adam. I want the proposal. I want getting married in some bad banquet hall, I want to have babies, I want the job, I want the mess. I want the whole thing.
Ruzek: Kay.
Burgess: Still want to talk to me about dating?
Ruzek: Yes.
Burgess: Don't we know better than this?
Ruzek: Do we?
Burgess: If not, we might be insane.
Miller: Blaine was far from perfect.
Voight: You're right. But he was a good man. He died trying to protect a scared, vulnerable young mother. And how he did it? I mean, what rules he chose to ignore? Who cares? He was trying to do something good, that's what matters. You know, there was a time we actually forgave people for their mistakes. We understood that human beings are fallible. So you look at the sum of the parts. Does the good outweigh the bad? I mean, Mike Blaine, he gave his life doing something good... brave... noble. And that makes him a hero.
Halstead: Okay, so he made a mistake. Just like every other human being on this planet. So can we rise above this petty anger? Maybe see the bigger picture?
Zach: Why would I want to do that?
Halstead: Cause that's what good people do. They realize that people are flawed. They do stupid things sometimes.
Zach: What he did to me was not just stupid. It was an abuse of power and a violation of my civil rights.
Look, I know who your dad was, and I know what he did. But if something happens, and you don't go see him, then you're gonna carry this for the rest of your life. So don't do it for him, just do it for you.

Voight: Well, you don't get to guess, not on this one.

Upton: You could tell me you don't want me to take it. It's an option.
Halstead: I want you to do whatever you want to do. I'm just practicing self-preservation here.
Burgess: That's the good thing about being scared. Sometimes it's like this reminder that you have to be brave, you have to fight. So I fought.
