George: Before I forget, I want to say thanks.
Birdie: For what?
George: I was drowning, you threw me a line.

Javier: I’ll answer to Teresa not you, cabron.
Pote: No, pendejo, you answer to me. I brought you here from Mexico. I trusted you with her. Don’t make me regret that.

Sometimes life can get real dark and it can get hard to tell the difference between reality and a nightmare. You know I have nightmares too. I’ve been sober for six months and I keep dreaming that I relapse and it feels very real. You see, I got a second chance at life just like you did but we’re still trying to figure out how to run away from our past as we’ll do anything to do it. Close your eyes and envision something different but then your eyes open and we’re still stuck with ourselves. So every morning I wake up and I pray to my higher power for help to accept the things I can’t change and for courage to change the things I can. You can’t run away from your past, okay. It’s a part of you, but the darkness, the nightmares, you’ve got to lock that away, cause it isn’t real and it’s only going to hurt us if we let it.

You know the one thing I can’t figure out, primo? Why are you here? We were kings in Mexico, you gave all that up to come work for Teresa? Now you’ve got your head so far up her ass I can’t tell where you start and she ends.

Boaz

Tony: Who was that?
Kelly Anne: I don’t know but something tells me it’s the big bad wolf.

Pote: It’s a la maldición. A curse.
Teresa: It’s a declaration of war.

Once this prison’s complete we’ll do a clean sweep of the city. Ms. Mendoza, Dumas, and all the rest of the riff-raff in our city will forever after call this home.

Judge LaFayette

Only gringos would sit around all day watching birds.

Boaz

Javier: I don’t forget anything, like when you killed your brother. When you got your own son killed.
Boaz: Stop talking out of your ass.
Javier: Shoot. Come on, asshole. Do it, asshole! If I had stayed in Mexico you would have killed me too. I’m not like you. Thank God for that.
Boaz: Fine. I’m saving a bullet for the bird man.

Teresa: [to Pote]: This is your house. It’s not up to me if she stays or goes. She’s your guest.

This is my town. A sparrow doesn’t fall from a tree without my knowledge.

Lafayette

I made a horrible mistake. She trusted me and I betrayed her. Trust is just a really hard thing to get back once it’s been lost.

Queen of the South Quotes

You could say that I am living proof that the American dream is alive and well.

Teresa

My name is Teresa Mendoza. I am from Mexico. I was born poor, not that that's bad but take it from me, I've been poor and I've been rich. Rich is better.
