Randall: Everyone had a crush on Mom.
I thought I was going to lose you that day, after the birth of the first child when you started crashing, and I think you felt it too. A voice in my head said, 'You're gonna lose the mother. Save the children.' But you survived. And then you lost a baby and a husband... but look what you made of it all.
Dr. K
Rebecca: I spent my whole life worrying about them, wondering what else I can do. And now...
Dr: K: There is nothing left to do. So you trust the process and you drink a vesper.
Randall: Old life, new life. It's so strange, the dichotomy. You know?
Beth: Not really. But I married you so I wouldn't have to know all the big words.
Randall: How're you doing?
Beth: I said what I need to say. I'm at peace and I hope she is too.
So much of being a mom is faking it. We don't know what the hell we're doing. Not when they're young and not when they're older. So we fake it. I had a good mom, but it was complicated. I just want to say that all of these years, while I was faking it, I was doing my best impression of you.
Beth
Randall: We're all just waiting, laughing, eating Chinese. Is this even right?
Deja: I don't think there are any rules for any of this.
I'm waiting for someone. My father always said he'd take me on a train like this someday, where we wear tuxedos and vespers. I have no idea what vespers are.
