The first responders deal with a wife who has hung a sign on an overpass, imploring her husband to see her. After brandishing a gun, Buck is able to talk to her before her husband shows up and the two reconcile. 

Athena, Bobby, and the kids have dinner with Michael and his boyfriend for the first time, while Chim, Buck, and Maddie go out for drinks. Buck runs into Taylor at the bar and the two hook up in the bathroom. 

Athena thwarts a robbery at a gas station committed by two bumbling thieves. Later, the team assists in a car accident involving newlyweds who veered off the road. A tree is trapped inside the car and it takes the team all day and night to get both the bride and groom out.

An older married couple is shown throughout the years, chronicling their love story. In the present, the two are getting ready to leave, when Mitchell leaves his car in neutral and it traps him against the gate to their home, killing him. His husband, Thomas, goes to have a moment with his body and then passes away. 

Ali calls Buck to meet for coffee, while Chim and Maddie decide that for now, they will be friends.
