Mace and Coulson stage an accident to stop a Hydra bus. The bus is full of Hydra body bags. Fitz interrogates Daisy. Madame Hydra and May discuss a plan to defeat the Patriot.
Mack offers to help Mace and Ward with the Resistance. They ask him to alter the bus so that they can use it to sneak in to a Hydra Enlightenment Cultivation Center and rescue another member of the Resistance.
Simmons tells Mace about the real world. Ward asks Simmons why she is so sure that her world is real and theirs is a simulation.
Madame Hydra visits Daisy in custody and offers to give her a peaceful life with Lincoln with no regrets, but Daisy refuses. Simmons meets Mack's daughter, Hope. Fitz tells his father about the Hydra security leak.
Coulson uses the bus to sneak into the Hydra center. In prison, Radcliffe tells Daisy that Fitz killed Agnes. He also tells her the Framework has a back door that Aida doesn't know about.
Fitz tells his father about killing Agnes; Fitz is worried he made the wrong choice, but his father reassures him and reminds him that the only person who understands him is Madame Hydra.
Mace and the other Resistance members sneak into the Hydra center by hiding in body bags on the bus. They rescue Tripp, who is still alive in the Framework.
Fitz injects May with a serum to augment her strength so she can fight Mace. Ward asks Simmons what he did in the other world to make her hate him so much, and apologizes for his crimes. Ward also asks Simmons whether Mack's love for Hope makes him real.
Coulson recognizes one of his students at the Hydra center and decides to rescue him. Tripp tells Mace about Coulson's plan and the two of them decide to pursue him. Ward decides to go in to extract them; he wants to bring Mack with him, but Simmons insists on going in his place so he can stay with Hope.
May shows up and attacks Mace, but Mace escapes into the center's quarantine building. Fitz and Madame Hydra order the building brought down with explosives.
Simmons and Ward meet up with Tripp at the Hydra center. They run into the quarantine building and watch as Mace and a child are hit with rubble. May goes into the building to look for Mace's body and is shocked to find children there.
Mace uses his super-strength to life the rubble off of the child. May wants to shoot him, but the others convince her that Mace is the only thing keeping the building from falling down.
Mace tells the others to leave him behind, even though Simmons knows that if he dies in the Framework he'll die in the real world too. They watch as the building collapses. Aida looks at the prisoners plugged into the Framework and notices that Mace has flatlined.
May asks Daisy if she is an Inhuman. When Daisy says yes, May releases Terrigen mist to give Daisy her powers.
