Then she finds the Iroquois arrow. She is hiding Renardette. Mathilde informs Bouchard that Hamish and Yvon left that morning for Quebec. She urges him to question Cooke about the massacre. Henri surprises Mari then asks for help with his burns. Sel stumbles upon Father Gabriel and the Iroquois. He gets hit with an arrow while escaping. Hamish and Yvon find out from thir boss in Quebec City that Cross and Cooke were working to push out French settlers but he wouldn't admit to approving the massacre. Mathilde collects Trepagny's debt from him then gives the money to Melissande. Cooke informs Duquet that he will teach him the barrel business. Trepagny runs into Duquet but leaves him with Cooke. Bouchard arrests Cooke for his role in Francis's murder and puts him in stocks in the public square. Mari treats Henri. Trepagny teaches Melissande about the woods. She tells her that Mari is his housekeeper. Duquet rifles Cooke's office grabbing money and documents. Duquet gives Thom money so he can make a fresh start in Quebec. Delphine settles into life with her trapper husband. A drunken Basquet advances on Mathilde but she slaps him. Renardette slips out and hugs her. Delphine's husband discovers she's not a virgin. Melissande investigates Trepagny's manor house. When she steps out onto the balcony, Mari looks up at her. Trepagny sees her also. An Iroquoi captures Sel. Duquet visits Cooke at night. Renardette stabs Basquet.
