Erin’s turning 40 and she gets quite a present. The DA has decided to crack down on cops fixing tickets and asked Erin to be the lead on the case. Erin is furious and plans to turn it down until Alex tells her that the entire office is waiting to see what she does. They believe she plays selective justice when it comes to the NYPD. Erin takes the case. Frank is furious and the two argue but Erin stands her ground that this is her job.
Eddie gets charged with official misconduct for pulling tickets for her elderly neighbor. Jamie and Eddie pull over a judge for rolling through a Stop sign. He has a family connection to the DA. The Police Union President encourages the officers to not show up in court for anything less than a class A felony. Frank quickly puts a stop to that. Frank explains that the police tradition of fixing tickets for friends and family has to stop because there’s no way to prove that the officer isn’t gaining something by doing it. It’s all about appearances.
After a tense Reagan family dinner, Frank and Erin finally sit down to attempt to come up with a compromise that the DA will accept.
Mr. Owen Cairo’s car, the 1968 Ford Mustang from the classic Steve McQueen movie Bullitt, is stolen. Danny and Baez investigate. Owen thinks his wife had the car stolen because he thinks she’s having an affair and that would violate their prenuptial agreement. If she stole the car, she could sell it for millions.
Turns out that she isn’t having an affair and didn’t steal the car. However, she says that Owen’s mother says that Owen’s life could be in danger because of the care. Danny and Baez get a lead and track down the car. Owen has the car and is trying to sell it . They arrest him for insurance fraud and filing a false report. The mother tells Danny that the car isn’t the real one from the movie but a fake. Owen didn’t know. His deceased father hid the real car and his mother won’t tell Owen where it’s hidden.
Later, Danny gets her to tell him where the real car is being housed. Danny, Jamie, Frank and Henry all pay it a visit and take pictures.
