Frank plans to speak at Nicky’s school, Columbia University but Garrett is worried about the reception he’ll receive. Nicky is surprised when she sees students forming a plan to disrupt Frank’s talk because they believe everything he will say is a lie. 

Nicky tries to warn Frank and encourages him to back out but he won’t. Before he can even speak, the students begin to chant, “Frank Reagan cannot hide. We charge you with homicide.” When they won’t stop Frank leaves. Later at dinner, Nicky tells him how proud she is of him for doing his job.

Linda’s therapist wants Danny to come in for a visit but he’s reluctant to do so, saying he already understands PTSD and that this is about Linda learning to cope with it. Eventually he relents but doesn’t really want to talk about his marriage. Later, Danny and Linda attend together. Linda says she just wants things to be the way they were before her shooting. Danny says that all he wants to do is fix things but he doesn’t know how. 

Thomas Wilder, the serial killer that Danny let get away dumps the body of Danielle Levine, the victim who formerly got away, outside of Danny’s church. Danny and Baez visit his mother. She says he always liked to kill things. 

When they realize that Thomas is using Danny’s name, they find out he rented a boat. As Danny and Baez approach they see someone on board just before it blows up. Although there are human remains, it will take time to identify them to find out if Thomas is dead or alive. 

Jamie argues with a Sergeant on the scene of a possible hostage situation. Danny feels he puts a young girl in needless jeopardy by rushing in and confronts him. Lt. Gormley interviews them both and finds out the Sergeant has pancreatic cancer and only six months to live. Since he’s only been on the job for 10 years, his family won’t get health benefits if he dies of cancer but will do much better if he is killed on the job. Gormley takes him off the streets.
