Blue Bloods Season 11 Episode 6 revolves around the changing political climate for police officers.

Erin is unhappy to learn that a violent defendant is being released ROR because of changes in the bail laws. Her new boss tells her to go to the arraignment if she's upset about it, but the judge won't listen to Erin because of the change to the law and argues that it's unfair that wealthy defendants get to go home and poor defendants can't make bail. Erin decides to take matters into her own hands, which Crawford doesn't appreciate.

Meanwhile, Danny finds himself on the hot seat after he decides not to shoot a perp who stole a cop's gun but was holding it by the barrel, and he soon finds himself under investigation because another cop is accusing him of malfeasance. Danny stands firm in his belief that you don't shoot perps who pose no threat, but not everyone thinks he did the right thing.

And finally, Eddie is enthusiastic about a new program in which a social worker rides along with her and Witten to calls, but Jamie is skeptical that this can really work.
