Buffy and Joyce are shopping at the mall. While Joyce goes to pick up some flyers, Buffy notices a vampire with an unsuspecting woman. She saves her in time, but the vampire makes his escape. Joyce chastises Buffy for not getting her outfit in time.

Cordelia and Xander continue their illicit affair. They make out in the janitor's closet.

The students in biology class have to pair up and take care of a egg. This egg will be considered as a baby.

Buffy missed the class and was given her egg separately. She is without a partner.

Buffy and Angel are making out while on patrol. The Gorch brothers are spying on them from a tree.

The egg secretly has a demon creature inside of it. While Buffy sleeps, tentacles crack through the egg and press itself to Buffy. She is tired in the morning while Joyce makes jokes.

The Gorch brothers bicker about how they're planning to kill the Slayer. They decide to watch her until they fight her.

Buffy and Willow are tired in the morning while Xander is making jokes. Mr. Whitmore hasn't shown up to class; Cordelia thinks Mr. Whitmore has disappeared. Cordelia and Xander go off to makeout.

Angel and Buffy go out on patrol together again; they continue making out. Angel reveals that he can never have kids. They have a chat about the future and Buffy just wants to be with him.

A security guard at Sunnydale High is knocked unconscious by Mr. Whitmore.

Buffy's egg breaks open to reveal the demon creature. She kills it and calls Willow, but Willow is already infected. Joyce arrives in the room and notices Buffy's jacket; she grounds Buffy.

In the morning, Xander breaks open his egg to reveal the dead demon creature. The Scoobies go to investigate the creature, but an infected Willow and Cordelia knock out Xander and Buffy. They place them in a closet.

The infected students and faculty members grab weapons to dig underground in the basement.

Giles, while under the influence of the creature, places one on Joyce and infects her too.

A Bezoar is located underground at Sunnydale High. The students are digging it up and harvesting her eggs. Xander and Buffy follow a newly infected Jonathan to the basement to find everyone digging.

The Gorch brothers arrive to kill Buffy. The group fights, but it alerts the infected diggers. Buffy and the Gorch brothers fight off the infected minions, while always fighting each other.

Xander knocks out an evil Cordelia.

Tector Gorch is pulled underground by the creature and is killed. An infected Joyce tries to kill Buffy.

Buffy is pulled underground by the Bezoar. She slays the demon and everyone is freed from the contamination.

Giles pretends its a gas leak and creates a coverup for the students. Joyce is still mad at Buffy for not being in the library when she arrived to school.

While still being grounded and confined to her room, Buffy kisses Angel through the window.
