Drusilla is overcome with spiritual premonitions as Angel's soul is taken from him. Buffy wakes up and Angel is not in the bed beside her. He loses his soul outside and kills a random woman.

Joyce notices something is different about Buffy, but she can't put her finger on it.

The Scoobies worry the next morning when Buffy and Angel don't check in at the library. Xander and Willow decide to rush to the factory to find her, but Buffy arrives back and worries that Angel still is missing.

Angel visits the factory to tease Spike and Drusilla. When they send The Judge to burn away his humanity, nothing happens. He's revealed to be Angelus and he's back to join the evil team.

Angelus's plan is to torment Buffy and make her a shadow of her former self.

Cordelia and Xander kiss behind one of the bookcases. Willow discovers them and runs away upset; she can't believe Xander would kiss Cordelia rather than be with her.

Buffy checks a few places for Angel and finds him back at his apartment. Angelus tells her them hooking up wasn't a big deal and that she needs a lot to learn about men.

Jenny visits her uncle to find out about Angel and the curse. He warns her that if he experiences one moment of true happiness, the soul will no longer be trapped and he will be freed.

The lights go out at Sunnydale High and Angelus reappears. Jenny arrives with a cross to stop Angelus as he grabs Willow by the throat. Xander saves Willow in time and Angelus escapes.

Willow realizes how Angelus lost his soul: It had to do with Buffy sleeping with him. Buffy goes home and cries in her bed.

Buffy has another premonition. She's at the cemetery during a funeral with Angel and Jenny.

Buffy rushes to the school to confront Jenny. Jenny spills the truth about the curse and her real identity. Angelus visits Jenny's uncle.

Xander and Cordelia sneak onto an army base. They're caught and pretend to be a soldier taking a girl to makeout. They're allowed in and they look for weapons.

Oz refuses to kiss Willow because he knows she's trying to make Xander jealous.

Angelus kills Jenny's uncle.

The Scoobies swarm into the factory but no one is there; Angelus, Drusilla and The Judge head to the mall to kill people.

Buffy arms a rocket launcher and shoots it at The Judge. He's blown apart.

Angelus and Buffy fight near the mall cinema as the fire alarm sprinklers go off. She's unable to kill him because she still has feelings for him.

Giles gives Buffy support after everything that happened. Buffy and Joyce spend time together watching an old movie.
