The Scoobies vanquish a group of mysterious demons in a cavern. Xander gets seriously knocked out during the fight; the others worry he could hurt himself.

Xander urges the football jocks to throw the ball at him, but he misses. The ball hits the local bully Jack O'Toole who threatens to harm him.

Cordelia cuts Xander down to size with her words.

Xander wants to be cool. He begs Oz to tell him how to achieve it.

The Sisterhood of Jhe are the demons entering Sunnydale with the goal of opening the Hellmouth. Both Buffy and Willow are scared of the potential demons.

Xander rents a blue convertible to repair his image. While Cordelia makes fun of him, he meets a new woman and invites her out for a drive. The woman is clearly into guys with cars.

Xander begs Angel to bring him along for patrolling, but he refuses to keep him safe.

Xander crushes his car into Jack's car.

The Watchers Council isn't returning Giles' calls. Buffy doesn't want Xander involved to stop the demons.

Jack pulls a knife on Xander. The two scuffle until a security guard arrives to break it up. Xander lies that nothing bad happened; he earns Jack's trust.

Jack resurrects his dead friends using a spell. Xander bumps into Giles contacting the spirits, but Giles doesn't need his help.

Buffy finds Willy bloodied and bruised. He warns Buffy about the impending danger coming from the Hellmouth.

The undead criminals break into the hardware store. Xander begs Willow to get involved, but she doesn't tell him anything.

The zombies want to kill Xander and turn him into one of them. All of them are dead, including Jack, so Xander needs to die too. He makes a run for it.

Xander saves Faith from fighting with one of the Jhe demons. He helps her pop her shoulder back in. The pair have sex in her motel room.

Back in the library, werewolf Oz breaks free from the cage. Willow knocks him out with a tranquilizer dart.

Xander looks into Jack's bags and discover the items are for a weapon.

Xander accidentally stumbles into an emotional moment between Angel and Buffy. He embarrassingly leaves.

Giles sets up a binding spell while the undead zombies plant a bomb beneath Sunnydale High. Xander bumps into the zombies on the street and learns where the bomb is; he accidentally kills one of them.

The Hellmouth is opened, and the demon inside has grown since its last appearance.

Xander kills one of the undead by dropping a vending machine on its head.

One of the undead is killed by the Sisterhood of Jhe demons. Meanwhile, the Scoobies continue to fight the Hellmouth demon.

Jack and Xander fight in the basement. He forces Jack to deactivate the bomb due to the fear of being blown up by the bomb.

Jack is killed by werewolf Oz ripping him apart.

The Scoobies are traumatized over their battle with the Hellmouth demon.

Xander brushes off Cordelia's latest cutting remarks.
