Recap

Terri is doing a crossword puzzle. Stevie checks on her arm and finds Terri is wearing her bracelet, which she is fine with, but she is NOT fine with the house being a mess. She refuses to pay to get Terri's van out of impound. Terri is grateful for her doting daughter. Stevie leaves.

Some woman at the coffee shop thinks Maggie and Vanessa could be sisters. Vanessa is uncomfortable. Does the woman know about them? Maggie tells her Sharon knows. Vanessa thinks no one thinks she belongs here and is worried about nepotism accusations because Charles knows (even though Maggie told him in therapy.) Anyway a woman has crashed through a plate glass window and is complaining about snakes no one else can see. Vanessa and Maggie work together on this patient. Maggie goes to get Vanessa an extra set of hands. She walks out and sees everyone standing around. Choi is back.

Time to get back to work. Marcel wants Choi to go out for drinks sometime. Charles tells Choi that gunshot survivors need to stick together. He's around if Choi needs him.

Archer is hanging around while Choi is talking to Sharon. Apparently Choi wants to come back but he needs to undergo evaluation first. Sharon excuses herself. Choi thanks Archer for pushing for spinal reconstruction. Archer admits that it may be his fault that Choi was shot in the first place. Choi says they're past that.

Marcel checks out Avery's scar. The suture looks good and is healing nicely. He'll see her in a few weeks. She wants to go out for drinks before that. Marcel says he can't date patients. Avery says she just meant drinks. Marcel and Avery talk about how Marcel is shadowing her mother. Avery didn't think he was the kind to sit on the sidelines, but he knows where she is if he wants her.

Will tells Sharon that the autopsy on Eleanor is inconclusive. But he will try to talk to him at the Critical Care Conference.

Charles talks to Astrid who is too tired to talk to him. Hallucinations aren't drug induced. Vanessa tells Charles that schizophrenia usually involves auditory hallucinations, not visual, according to what she's read. Charles disagrees but anyway the parents are here and they want Astrid held on a psych hold. Charles wants to get a history from them. Vanessa watches them go.

Some more patients come into the ED.  Stevie calls for an X-ray. Patient may be paralyzed. Also he needs a chest tube . The other patient is a teenage boy who is worried about his dad. Scott tries to calm him down while they check out his arm, which is broken. EJ says his dad is all he has left and freaks out. Scott says he'll check on him while they are doing EJ's CT scan.

EJ sees his father being moved past and tries to follow him. He wants to know what's wrong with him.

Marcel has heard they have finally found a liver for Sheldon. However, Blake says the donor liver is too big for Sheldon. Marcel says but Sheldon is running out of time. Blake wants to wait for a better match anyway. Marcel asks about trimming the liver. Blake says that takes too long. Marcel has done plenty in the ED -- he is sure he could pull it off.

EJ stops by his dad's room and asks Stevie if his dad is going to walk. He wants to put off his arm surgery til his dad is okay. Stevie says if he sticks to his surgery she'll keep him in the loop with his dad.

Abrams says that EJ's dad is paralyzed beneath the neck. He needs to be put in traction now.

Meanwhile Archer evaluates Ethan and says he's too slow incubating. He makes Ethan start compressions on the dummy they're using for this exercise.

Vanessa is taking pills when Charles comes in and says they are allergy pills. She starts talking very fast about why she sent Astrid for an MI and Charles tells her to slow down. Charles thinks it might be a result of medication. Vanessa shows him the scans and thinks they're proof of MS. Charles says let's not get ahead of ourselves. Vanessa is called in to another patient and tells Charles she just wanted to be thorough.

Jessa asks Will about the M&M. She doesn't want to be associated with a defective product. Was it the VAS COM or Cooper? She changes her tune when she sees Cooper. Cooper wants Will to walk with him. Will tries to reassure him not to take Jessa's concerns personally. Cooper says he's second-guessing his decisions himself and goes in search of tequila.

Sharon calls a meeting about the VAS COM and says they are discontinuing its use until it can be proven to be safe. Archer is thrilled by this idea but other doctors disagree.

The patient is put in traction and they take more spinal images. Abrams shows up and he and Stevie get into it about whether Nathan will be able to walk again. Also Abrams says since EJ is only 15, he gets no say in this.

Marcel thinks he can dissect more tissue. Blake isn't sure.

Charles talks to Taylor about how she gave Astrid a spinal tap without permission. Labs show Vanessa's theory is wrong. Vanessa wants to take another MRI just in case. Charles thinks that's overkill and retraumatizing.

Stevie talks to EJ about his father's options. Scott thinks her idea is risky. EJ says his dad would be willing to take that risk. Stevie wants to talk to Abrams. Scott tells Stevie you're making him think he has a choice when he doesn't. Stevie won't listen.

Marcel can't remove any more tissue. Blake suggests they make their hole larger. Marcel agrees with her idea.

Cooper's father-in-law is on the board and has showed up to talk to Sharon. He's glad Sharon has taken the stand she did with the department heads and wants to make sure they're in the clear legally. Peter is worried about VAS-COM suing. So the board has decided not to ban the VAS-COM. They want to form an investigative committee instead.

Will and Cooper drink. Cooper says VAS-COM wants to make sure Will doesn't get a bad case of ethics. Will puts on his phone recorder and asks if Cooper feels morally compromised. Cooper says how else do you get the crab legs? Cooper won't answer Will's questions.

Ethan and Archer argue about whether Ethan should continue working on his "patient." Ethan wants to try again.

Vanessa is trying to sell the MRI to Astrid's parents. Charles calls her out of the room and says to her I thought we decided to pause these tests. He thinks she should chill and rest. Vanessa thinks Charles thinks she doesn't belong here because Maggie is her birth mother. Before Charles can straighten that out, Astrid starts having a seizure. Could be caused by a TBI. Astrid starts to come out of it and Charles wants that MRI after all.

The transplant surgery continues. Have to attach vessels to the liver.

Cooper offers Will cocaine! Will records on his phone and asks about Eleanor. Cooper looks unwell and like he might be having a heart attack. Will takes him out of the room but Cooper collapses. He tells Jessa to call 911 as he begins chest compressions.

Stevie is doing an unauthorized exam to try to change Abrams' mind. She wants to show Abrams but nothing happens when she shows him. Stevie insists that Daniels can get his legs back. Abrams says that if Daniels dies, Scott and Stevie will be the ones to explain to EJ why.

Cooper is brought into the hospital and Ethan is asked to help. Defib is in another room. Will asks Ethan to intubate while he grabs the paddles.

Choi is having trouble incubating but gets it at the last second. Will returns with the paddles and they get a sinus rhythm going. Time to page cardiology.

Good news is that Astrid does not have mental illness. But she has a disease called MLD that causes the brain to gradually lose its function. But it has been caught early and prognosis is good. Astrid is relieved to know what is going on with her. She thanks Charles and Vanessa.

Marcel comes to see Blake. She has to go to a fundraiser. Marcel says he realizes he painted her into a corner with the surgery. Blake says no need to apologize. She was glad to see the Crockett who threw her off her daughter's case. She wants him to stop self-doubting.

Abrams tests Nathan but he can't even wriggle his toes. EJ is upset. Suddenly Nathan does it.

Stevie is relieved she made the right call. She feels like maybe she was fighting for her teenage self.

Vanessa apologizes to Charles. Charles commends her on her stick-to-itvness. But what sucks is when capable people feel like they need extra help to keep up. He knows she is taking pills. Vanessa says she just takes allergy pills and runs away.

Sharon comes to see Will and Cooper. Will tells her he was so close. Sharon wonders whether this experience will change Cooper.

Terri is washing dishes when Stevie comes home. Stevie is impressed. She tells Terri she does her best to take care of her. If she oversteps it's only because she loves her. She confesses that she was the one who had the van towed. Terri is angry. Stevie is sorry. Terri starts throwing things all over the place and makes Stevie bleed. Terri runs away.

Chicago Med Season 7 Episode 7 Quotes

Trish: Did anyone ever say you two could be sisters?
Maggie: That's nice of you to say.
*Maggie and Vanessa walk off*
Maggie: I'm sure that was meant more as a compliment than it seems.
Vanessa: It makes me think that she knows about us.
Maggie: She doesn't.
Vanessa: You make it sound like someone does.
Maggie: Well, Sharon does.
Vanessa: Ms. Goodwin knows? Is that why she hired me?
Maggie: No! Actually she was reticent when she found out.
Vanessa: So she didn't really want me here? I feel like no one thinks I belong.
Maggie: That is not true. No one else knows... well, except Dr. Charles. But I told him in confidence.
Vanessa: So he knows! Everyone's going to think this is nepotism.
Maggie: Listen to me. You don't have anything to prove to anyone.

Maggie: Why is everyone standing around?
Choi: Hey Mags. Long time, no see.
