In Summer 1999, Megan is cleaning up her room; she's frustrated at her home for allowing an exchange student to stay in her room for the summer. She wants to spend time with Luke, but her mom thinks Isabella could be a good friend to her.

In Winter 1999, Megan is watching the NYE special with The Spice Girls. Isabella rushes in with Megan's acceptance letter for the university. Megan got accepted to the University of Washington and got a scholarship.

In Summer 2000, a punk-looking Megan is at her computer typing away digital programs. She noticed Sheriff Myer arrive at her place; she grabs her keys and sneaks out through her window.

In Summer 1999, Megan is walking with Luke on the beach; she's complaining about Isabella coming to town. The group of friends plan to go to the island for a hangout; Megan hesitates to join them because her mom wants her to be there for Isabella's arrival. Luke jumps in the boat and goes with the group.

In Winter 1999, a scene is shown of Megan and Luke kissing each other. Luke is proud of Megan for getting into her school and the scholarship.

In Summer 1999, Megan's mom Debbie has gotten new flowers for the house. Isabella arrives and is greeted by the Landrys.

In Summer 200, Megan is at her computer coding. She leaves and heads to another abandoned building; she hands someone a floppy disk in exchange for cash. She charges the man double.

In Summer 1999, Isabella reveals that she's lived all over the world because her parents are diplomats. She gives the entire family gifts: Debbie gets a glass vase, Lily gets a bracelet, and Megan gets a mystery book.

Later on, Megan sneaks into the trailer to go through Isabella's stuff. She finds a "Summer 1998" floppy disk in Isabella's bag, along with a passport with many stamps. Isabella catches her snooping through her stuff.

In Winter 1999, Megan is trying on one of Isabella's dresses. Megan says she's always wanted to do something but hesitated. She asks Isabella to do it with her.

In Summer 2000, Lily asks Megan for some money to watch a movie. Megan and Lily snipe at each other with cutting comments. Megan sneaks a pill after telling Lily to change her shirt.

In Summer 1999, Megan complains again to her mother, but she reluctantly agrees to show Isabella around town. Isabella says she chose Chatham because she wanted to experience real small-town life and be with a real family. Megan says it's tough because everyone remembers everything.

In Winter 1999, Megan and Isabella decide to cliff jump into the cold water.

In Summer 2000, Megan gets out of her car and sees police sirens drive by; she sees a missing person's poster. Parker says that it wouldn't have happened if "she" never came to town.

In Summer 1999, Isabella lightly flirts with one of the bartenders. Megan is grabbing her cheque, but she's frustrated the manager has scheduled other people during the most popular shifts.

Megan tells Isabella that she loves computer science. Isabella says she's not a school person and wants to experience life instead.

In Winter 1999, Debbie congratulates Megan for getting the scholarship. Megan notices the past due bills; she offers to work part-time and still sends money, but Debbie declines.

In Summer 1999, Megan says she wants to leave town and work in Silicon Valley. If people stay in town, they'll never leave. Megan and Isabella are completely different in their personalities and dreams.

Sheriff Myer tells Luke that he still has time to figure out his plans in life. Megan admits to Luke that she got caught going through Isabella's stuff. Luke and Isabella start talking about life; he reveals that there's a party going down at the Bloom.

In Summer 2000, Megan is picking up a prescription for her mother, but she overhears people talking about the police finding a body in the lake. Megan drives into the woods and accidentally drops a fake I.D. of Isabella.

Megan is cleaning the dried blood from the floor of a cabin.

In Summer 1999, Debbie is talking with her boss, Luke's dad, about a Northland development. They reminisce about the kids growing up.

In Winter 1999, Luke's dad and Debbie kiss each other.

In Summer 1999, Isabella is introduced to the group of friends. The group includes Luke's brother Brent, Parker, Kelly, Amy, Jeff, and Freddie. Jeff is recording footage of the group, including Megan.

In Winter 1999, Luke and Megan are making out on a bed. They hear gunshots coming from the woods. They see a millionaire shooting birds in the forest; she thinks he's a Y2K prepper.

In Summer 2000, Megan sees a commotion coming from the lake. She chases after an ambulance.

In Winter 1999, Debbie and Luke's dad continue to flirt together. They see Luke and Megan get close at the party, but he says they're too young to get tied down.

Isabella scores free drinks for her friends. Jeff is recording them all together.

In Summer 1999, the group has the party at the lake to see the bioluminescence. Everyone is drinking, but Megan politely turns it down.

In Winter 1999, the principal congratulates Luke for going to Branson, like his dad and his brother. Luke looks visibly upset and hates the idea.

Luke says he loves Megan. Megan says it back.

In Summer 1999, Luke compliments Isabella to Megan. Megan doesn't think she'll ever be friends with Isabella.

In Winter 1999, Megan and Isabella sing and dance together to "Livin La Vida Loca."

In Summer 1999, Isabella asks Megan for permission to hook up with Luke. Megan agrees to it. In Winter 1999, Megan sees them being friendly to each other.

In Summer 2000, a body is brought up on shore by the police. Megan is worried about the discovery.

In Winter 1999, Steve makes a toast at the party and continues the tradition of airing a holiday movie by the pool for the entire party. Instead of a holiday movie, it's a sex tape of Isabella hooking up with Luke.

Megan storms out of the party in tears. She doesn't want to speak to Isabella or Luke.

In Summer 2000, Megan is at the crime scene watching the police bring in the body. Steve, Brent, and Debbie rush to the body. Steve identifies the dead body as Luke.

Isabella walks up beside Megan. She says she and Megan need to get their stories straight.
