A man is shot during a car chase with his son in the vehicle. He urges his son to grab a bag from the car before he passes out at the hospital.

The teen, Trevor Logan, brings the bag filled with fentanyl to the FBI office, which leads to an armed standoff, including Scola and Tiffany.

Trevor tells the agents about what happened to him in the past hour. He's seeking protection from the FBI. Scola and Tiffany convince Trevor to get information from his father by wearing a wire, with the promise of a fresh start afterward.

Nina tells Scola that she's pregnant but wants to raise the baby by herself. Also, she's considering taking a position in Los Angeles. He's not impressed with this plan. Trevor's father Vince gives up little information.

When they go to the Hogans' apartment, they surprise an intruder and give chase but lose him. VInce's phone reveals that he decided to keep the product and sell it for himself.

He gives up the name of his boss, Nico Chao. Scola pushes to set up an undercover buy with Chao. Nina is pushing him about the legal documents she wants him to sign.

Chao insists on talking to Scola and Trevor at his club before any deal. Isobel reluctantly agrees to Scola's plan. Trevor agrees but wants to see Vince one more time.

Trevor almost confesses but Vince cuts him off. At the meet, Scola discovers a shooter has shot Vince and his lieutenant. It was Vince, who had snuck out of the hospital. Vince's wound has opened up.

Elyse tracks Vince's stolen car. Trevor insists on talking Vince down and Scola agrees to his plan. Vince attacks and gets mowed down. Scola refuses to step back as a parent. It's a boy.
