Bode talks to Cara when she comes with Jake to visit him. And he's surprised that she didn't bring his daughter as he imagined she would.

She tells him that she's not even certain that he is the father and that she doesn't want Genevieve to come to the prison grounds to see Bode when she's already confused enough about the situation and her grandparents not being her parents.

Vince is concerned about Sharon's new lease on life, which leads to her being a bit reckless when she stays out all night and races people on her motorcycle at traffic lights.

Clay is surprised at how small-town things are as he makes sense of Bode's connection to everyone as they head on a call. And they're thrown by how Eve is the opposite of "chill" when she rides all the inmates hard on their way there. Including Bode.

While responding to the fire, Bode notices that Genevieve is there and wants to take the chance of talking to her, but one of the drunken teens at the scene throws something into the fire to make it bigger.

Genevive only seems to remember Bode as the next-door neighbor who went to prison, and he notices how close she is to Jake instead, which seems to affect him.

Gabriela gets pulled away from spending dinner with her fiance's family to save someone stuck in a cavern along with Sharon and Manny.

Bode and Sharon come face to face for the first time since he went back inside. But she doesn't really speak to him.

Sharon tries to save the girl they find in the cavern. She's unconscious and need to be resuscitated and has a nasty gash on her head. They save the girl, but Sharon is not above expressing her displeasure with the risktaking and Vince has to send her home for her behavior.

Another fire is starting elsewhere after they realize the teens are starting the fires on purpose.

Bode knows what may happen next and breaks protocol and leaves. He thought he and Clay could find another entrance through the cave, but they couldn't and he sees a happy family moment between Jake, Cara, and Genevieve with Clay reminding him that he's not in that family.

Eve finds Clay and Bode and chews them out.

Gabriela opts to deep dive in the cavern to save someone else.

They run out of water when they blow a hose, so they have to pull out. But now they have to wait for Gabriela to save the girl. HOwever she and the girl get separated, the rope gets cut, and Manny can't pull Gabriela out.

Gabriela manages to get out okay and save the girl.

Jake suggests that they use the water from the cavern to put out the rest of the fire.

Bode apologizes to Eve for making things harder on her and they make up when she expresses why it's harder for her being captain as a woman.

Manny and Gabriela talk about the past. He tells her the truth about her mother leaving him because of his issues and that she didn't abandon Gabriela. He want s her to try to make amends with her.

Vince and Sharon go out on a date together. While hanging out, someone name Liam shows up and tries to talk to Sharon. It sounds like they were together when she was at the campaign fire and he wants to know why she left.

Vince walks up to him, and the guys size each other up as they ask who the other is.
