While Steve, Chin, Kono and Catherine are hot in pursuit of a kidnapper on the run with a 16-year old girl, Danny is plotting to recreate the perfect dinner for his estranged parents.  The kidnapping case takes a dramatic turn when revealed that the teenage girl manipulated an ex-con into killing her father so she could inherit his life insurance money.  Things go from bad to worse quickly, ending in a high speed chase and fatal shooting.  Danny has a better day as his plans to reunite his parents helps rekindle their relationship and helps them work through their marital problems.  Steve also uncovers another clue into his mother's past after Jerry finds a repainted tool box in Steve's garage.
