Louis recovers from his injuries at the hand of Lestat, while in Dubai, Molloy receives treatments. It's also mentioned that Daniel has been dreaming about his first meeting with Louis.

As Louis continues to recover with the help of Claudia, Lestat stays away but does show up spontaneously with gifts. Louis continues to rebuff him for years until he sends him a song he wrote for him. Louis swims to where Lestat is shacked up with Antoinette, and the two get back together soon after.

With Lestat back home, the trio set up rules and compromises for his return.

Lestat proposes they go back to hunting humans, which Louis agrees to.

Tasked with killing Antoinette, Lestat brings home her finger wrapped in a newspaper clipping about her death. But later, it's revealed that he did not kill her, and Claudia and Louis see them together.

Claudia asks Louis to go to New York with her. Louis declines, and Claudia sets off on her own. But when Louis returns home that night, Claudia is there with Lestat.

It's shown that Lestat ambushed the train and forced Claudia to come home with him to help Louis.

Claudia tells Louis that she is going to kill Lestat.

Molloy falls asleep and dreams of his first meeting with Louis. He offers to interview him, and Daniel notices his companion is Rashid, which startles him awake.
