The police arrive to tell Amanda that Jamie's been shot and killed.

Amanda rushes to the scene of the crime, desperate to see Jamie but the police hold her back. Jimmy arrives and tries to comfort her.

Frank arrives at the hospital and is greeted by Nikki, who gives him an update on Eric's status -- he was hurt badly, but he will survive.

Jimmy and Amanda drive home. Amanda recalls that she didn't want Jamie to drive, but Jimmy encouraged him. Jimmy is hurt, saying he loved Jamie as much as Amanda did.

Jimmy gets his gun and heads to the hospital, asking Frank if he knows who shot Jamie. Frank insists he will find out and exact revenge on Jamie's killer.  

Birdy checks in on Michael. Birdy asks about the police, Michael asks about Jimmy and Amanda. Birdy notes that it will be especially difficult for Amanda -- she knows because she has also lost a child. 

At the hospital, Frank's men say that word on the street is Caolan Moore, Cunningham's man, was behind the shooting. Frank is surprised, because he thought things had been sorted with Eamon.

Jimmy wants to know where Caolan is, but he has gone into hiding. Jimmy wants to take action against Caolan, but Frank first wants to find out if Eamon was behind it all.

Amanda shows up at Michael's place, asking about Jamie's death. Michael recounts the car ride and the lead-up to the shooting. Amanda finds some solace that Jamie didn't suffer, that he spent his last few minutes alive talking about his family and having a laugh. 

Amanda showers. The family liaison officer arrives. Amanda just wants to see Jamie and asks when that can happen. Birdy advocates for Amanda. The officer has no real answers.

Frank and his bodyguard, Dotser, wait at a bar. Eamon shows up, saying he has a flight to catch and that they can chat in the car -- but only Frank, not Dotser. Frank gets in the car with Eamon. 

In the car, Frank realizes that they are not going to the airport. They stop at an industrial lot, where they meet with Caolan. Eamon tells Frank that Eric shot one of Caolan's men. Frank tells them that Eric had nothing to do with it, but Eamon insists that Eric is lying -- he was seen. Frank swears that he didn't have anything to do with it. Eamon says that Jamie's death was an accident, and Caolan gives Frank a bag of money to give to Jimmy. Eamon and Frank agree that this will be the end of it.

Anna, Michael's daughter, gets a text from a friend about Jamie's death. She watches some news clips to find out more.

Michael and Jimmy meet at a bar. Michael tells Jimmy that Amanda came to see him, and, suspicious, Jimmy asks for details. They drink together and discuss Amanda. Jimmy tells Michael to "stay out of his marriage." Jimmy asks Michael to get involved in the revenge against Caolan, but Michael wants to stay out of it, for Anna.

Amanda's parents come to visit her, asking about funeral arrangements. They express concern over Jimmy's criminal dealings, saying it was all over the news, but Amanda is defensive and storms off. She returns to the scene of the crime, watching the blood being cleaned off the street.

Distraught, Amanda drives. Another drive honks and yells at her. She goes after the other driver and violently rear-ends him. 

Frank confronts Eric and Nikki at the hospital, but Eric insists it's Caolan's fault. Frank tells Eric and Nikki to keep Eric's involvement a secret.

Jimmy picks up Amanda after her car accident. Amanda tells Jimmy that she wants a simple funeral for Jamie without any criminals present. Frank calls Jimmy and tells him to come to see him, with Michael.

Frank informs Jimmy and Michael that revenge against Caolan Moore is off the table. Jimmy argues, but Frank tells him that they will lose in a war with Eamon Cunningham. Birdy backs Frank up, telling Jimmy they will get Caolan someday in the future. Frank gives Jimmy the money from Eamon and Caolan. Jimmy urinates in the bag and hands it back. 

Jimmy returns home. Amanda asks him about his meeting with Frank, but Jimmy doesn't tell her anything. Anthony, their other son, asks what happened to Amanda, as she has visible facial injuries. She insists she's not hurt and comforts Anthony. 

Anna goes to Michael's place, but cannot bring herself to go in, and leaves unseen.

A social worker pays Anna and her grandmother a visit, informing them that Michael has been released from prison and that he is not allowed to contact her except through the courts. 

Frank visits Michael, urging him to stay out of it, and asks him to keep Jimmy in check. 

In the hospital, Eric explains to his men that they have to let the matter go, that no one can go after Caolan. 

In the middle of the night, Amanda and Jimmy make love.

Frank has a drink in a bar and gets a blow job from the bartender.

The family liaison officer pays Amanda a visit.

Michael goes to a lawyer, who tells him it will be very difficult for him to see Anna any time soon, if at all. She says that the courts will argue that giving Michael access to his daughter could put her in harm's way. He was responsible for her mother's death, and he has been arrested in a number of murder investigations. 

Jimmy and Amanda go to the morgue to view Jamie's body. Amanda refuses to believe that it is him and breaks down -- he is not how she remembers him.

Amanda reminds Jimmy of his promise to get revenge on Jamie's killer. Jimmy says Frank told him not to. Amanda tells Jimmy to ask for Michael's help.  

Jimmy goes to Michael and asks for his help in putting Jamie's death right. Michael agrees.
