Fin can't believe that Rollins is gone. She left a chipmunk behind. Benson tells him to put it away somewhere. McGrath shows up.

Duarte is bothering Munci at the shooting range. She wonders if she's not cut out for SVU. He won't let her come back to gangs.

There is a civil rights investigation by the DOJ into the Bronx SVU, a wrongful termination case. Benson is glad that a bad cop resigned. McGrath wants to clear a bunch of cases in the Bronx SVU. Also he blames her for Rollins leaving. They argue.

Later, Benson is walking with Noah down a dark street. She sees the gang sign again and two guys across the street. She tells Noah to go inside and tell Jorge to call the police and say it's a 10-13. She confronts the two guys and someone knocks her down on a bike and the guys start beating her up. She shoots at one of them. Noah comes outside and she tells him to go away and finishes subduing the guys.

Benson is upset as she tells IAB what happened. She has to take a breathalyzer and insists she does not need to go to the hospital. Fin comes. He stays with Noah while Benson goes to the hospital.

McGrath says Duarte needs Benson's victim statement so she will have to cooperate with him.

Benson is upset when she comes home. Noah is asleep. Benson tells Fin to take Noah to the McCanns tomorrow. Fin offers to stay but she sends him home.

Benson has a bunch of flashbacks of the attack while loading a rifle.

Noah asks how long he has to stay with Connor. He wants to stay here. Benson says they can do that but didn't he have fun with Connor before? Fin promises he will take good care of Benson and drives Noah away.

Muncy and Velasco are whispering and Benson knows they are talking about her. She wants medical treatment for the boy she shot. She stares at Rollins' desk.  Duarte is in Benson's office. Duarte insists she should have done things his way in the first place. Benson says they can still flip the rapists. Duarte says they were killed in jail. He wants her victim's statement. She says victims require to regain control. She says she will go to the Bronx. She goes and interrupts McGrath in a meeting. He doesn't want her going to the Bronx now. She wants to help with the Bronx SVU problem too. He says she's upset about Rollins. Benson informs him a gang came after her when she was with her son. Does he want her to fix the problems in the Bronx or not?

BEnson starts her mission and tells Muncy to lose the blazer.

Benson talks to some DOJ people who want to be clear on boundaries. Most of Bronx SVU leadership is forced into retirement. There is a mess of folders on a desk. The whistleblower who was fired is there. He meets Fin and needs to comment on Benson's eye.

There are 20 pounds of old cases. The one case keeping them up at night is closed. Bruno says the wrong guy is locked up. It's a serial rapist who goes after Deaf girls from a local store. No one who knew ASL was called in to help. Bruno thinks his captain closed the case to close it. There were more rapes with the same MO and he kept pushing and that's why he was fired. Benson calls Dixon in.

They interview a victim who has been waiting 10 years to tell her story. They interview a different witness who says when she signed "Help" to a cop the cop thought she was pulling a gun and handcuffed her so she couldn't sign.

Another victim says the lieutenant didn't understand and said she would never be able to communicate with a judge. She had a rape kit done but the lieutenant did nothing. Bruno says he got that lieutenant fired.

The lieutenant doesn't want to talk to Fin and is defensive. He says the perp made a confession and in the Bronx that means a conviction.

The defendant says that was not a real confession. He was doing drugs with the mother of one of the girls and never had sex with any of the young girls.

The DOJ complains they are interfering by reopening a case. McGrath says he is ordering Benson to move onto another case.

Bruno calls and says there is a new victim and this one is dead.

The victim is a fourteen year old sophomore. The DOJ comes along and tries to claim this has nothing to do with the closed cases. Bruno yells at them. Fin informs the DOJ that solving this one will show that the Bronx SVU is finally listening. The DOJ reluctantly agrees to let Benson and Fin investigate.

Renee's mother says she didn't walk her home like she should have. She blames herself.

Lab pulled DNA but it will take a few weeks. BEnson says they are going to help motivate the lab. The lab guy says he's got a backlog and is rude to Benson. Bruno compliments him on his watch and shows him his fancy watch. He says he will give it to the guy if he rushes the DNA. Benson tells him he cannot do that. He says but it worked.

Muncy and VElasco have found the gang member Benson shot. He is septic and in surgery. Meanwhile the DNA is back and they found a familial hit on a geneaology site.

The family member says he does not have a half brother. He says he is a CPA and doesn't know anyone who could do this. Fin threatens to charge him as an accessory. He insists he does not have a brother. His wife gave him the kit and said they didn't find any relatives. Benson says DNA doesn't lie, so the wife did.

The wife also denies that a half brother exists. She admits eventually she read the email and thought the relatives listed were a mistake but learned from the birth mother that Allen was put up for adoption and doesn't know he was adopted. Benson says they have to catch the rapist.

The birth mother is Deaf and Dixon translates. The other son, Ronnie, is full of conflict and issues. There was a lot of anger between them. They never got along.

Ronnie immediately says he didn't do anything and grabs a gun and has an argument in sign language when his mother tells him to drop the gun. He is arrested.

The cops will tell the DA if Ronnie cooperates. He goes after Deaf girls to hurt his mother. He says he didn't mean to kill Renee. He admits he raped all the girls.

Benson tells Fin he is now assigned to the Bronx backlog while she goes after Oscar Papa.

Benson calls Noah who says he stayed up all night and had fun but he misses her.

The kid is still groggy. He needs a new knee and better friends. Benson goes to him and says, "Remember me?"
