Recap

Elizabeth is thrilled with Stevie's choice of wedding venue. However, security will not allow her to taste the food because it hasn't been vetted.

Later, Mike is telling Elizabeth about the ceremony for the Equal Rights Bill. Elizabeth sends him and his weird concerns away. Russell tells her bill signing should be in here as the gardeners forgot to fertilize the Rose Garden. He wants to talk to her about the wedding too. Things have not been going well between him and Carol and she doesn't want to be at his table.

Russell has a flashback of how when Elizabeth asked him to become Chief of Staff, Carol said he was always second to his job. 

Elizabeth films a PSA for the Equal Rights Bill and meets Cicely Tyson's character, who was born when women got the right to vote. She wants to talk to Elizabeth privately. She tells her she didn't think she'd live to see a woman President, but she's disappointed in Elizabeth because the bill was passed in a houseful of men. 

After Flo leaves, Blake informs Elizabeth that Stevie's wedding venue has burned down.

Stevie does not want to postpone the wedding. Russell says it will take 3 weeks for security to approve a venue where Elizabeth can attend.So the choices are the White House or Camp David.

Elizabeth promises no politics at the wedding. 

Later, Mike wans to do the opposite. Elizabeth comes in ad says she is thinking about the ERA. Russell thinks its a dead horse, but her press secretary says that the younger voters are passionate about this and don't know the history.

Elizabeth has a press conference announcing she is going to try to get the ERA passed again.

Later, Elizabeth is dealing with the seating chart when Mike comes in to tell her that Senator Amy Ross is opposing the amendment. She wants to stop it dead in its tracks so Elizabeth can't divide the country.

Mike tells Russell that there is a potential coup in Venezuela which could interfere with the wedding. Meanwhile, Blake tells Mike and Russell he is being lobbied for tickets to the wedding. Mike wants to use the wedding to promote the ERA. Russell says no.

Amy goes to see Henry and says that the 14th amendment already grants women equal rights. She is worried that the ERA will gut protections of women's rights (e.g. Social Security benefits). She says men and women aren't equal and the ERA won't acknowledge that. 

Henry and Elizabeth ride with Stevie in the Presidential limo. They start cross-talking about what Stevie should come to them with. Stevie asks about the ERA. That's what she wants to talk about. Elizabeth says it's an uphill battle because of Ross. Stevie thinks the wedding would be a way to whip votes. She thinks they should politicize the wedding. They want to honor their future family that way.

Diaz is on the phone for Russell. He says it is time for action. Russell invites him to the wedding at the White House, which means that Diaz will have to postpone his plans for the coup. 

At th bachelor party, Dmitri's drunk cousin almost breaks his foot with a hatchet. Russell shows up and tells Jason and Dmitri to go home. 

Russell calls Carol. She asks him what he is doing. She doesn't want him to tell her about his day anymore. It's over. She hangs up.

Elizabeth sees Stevie in her bridal dress. Jay arrives and tells Elizabeth they are moving back and having a baby -- and also he was part of a pro-Elizabeth protest in Denmark Elizabeth and Jay toast.

Matt shows up. So does Daisy. Matt is apparently writing for a show in Hollywood about a robot President.

Will asks Jason about the hatchets.

Russell introduces Diaz to Mike's son, who speaks to him in Spanish. After the booze they will talk about the ERA.

Ex-President Dalton is the officiant! He tells Elizabeth he is also with her on t he ERA.

The wedding begins. Dalton gets to the vows quickly.  Stevie says she struggled with fear of losing Dmitri. But she had to defy Blake's advice to let Dmitri go. She uses a Jane Austen quote: I must learn to be content with being happier than I deserve. Dmitri says he will never leave her. They kiss.

Time for the lobbying to begin. Dalton and Elizabeth go off together to bother someone. Mike wants his son to get in good with this family.

Blake sings as everyone dances at the wedding. Trevor is smiling.

Matt has a pitch for Daisy. He thinks they can start a podcast about Washington Insiders that got out. 

Henry makes a toast. He starts with some joke about Thomas Aquinas. He tells them to be each other's teacher and to invite their parents over a lot.

Peter Frampton sings and plays for Stevie and Dmitri's first dance. 

Russell goes over to Carol. He tells her that he realizes how much politics ruined their life together. He acknowledges he never put her first and now he realizes that none of it mattered if he can't share it with her.n If she will let him, he will choose her first. He has his resignation letter. She says she'll believe it when she sees it. He comes over to Elizabeth and tells her it's been an honor to serve her.  Elizabeth thanks Carol for her sacrifice and walks away. Carol agrees to dance with him. His phone rings.  He gives it to her and she dumps it in a cup of water.

ONE MONTH LATER

Jay says the ERA will pass both houses but the ratification isn't promising. Elizabeth says  they should do a whistle stop tour like Teddy Roosevelt . She and Henry embark on a road trip while waiting for grandchildren.
