The team gets closer to Stroh on Major Crimes Season 6 Episode 12, but will he have the last laugh?

After Buzz realizes they are being hacked, Provenza suggests they use the hacking to their advantage and set a trap for Stroh. Chief Mason is skeptical but eventually comes around, admitting that Provenza knows what he is doing.

The team begins setting bait for Stroh, using Howard to claim that Chief Mason is making budget cuts that necessitate cutting back on security for Rusty and Gus as well as for Gwen Bechtel. They also successfully push Dylan's buttons as he freaks out when he realizes they know who he is and could possibly arrest him.

Meanwhile, Rusty realizes that the team has met Mary Wellington's mother and contacts her. While Gus watches, Rusty interviews Mrs. Wellington and empathizes with her loss of both her daughters while also learning that Mrs. Stroh paid her daughter Liz off for years. Later, the team realizes that Mrs. Stroh was paying off all of her son's victims.

Gus is not content with staying in the same room as Rusty and asks to sleep in the same bed, but Rusty turns him down. Meanwhile, Stroh takes another victim.
