After clients demand to work with Sam, she and Eddie are now a team . But, he has a master plan to get rid of her after one or two cases.

The PI business starts out less thrilling than Sam expected. Until they catch the low-level movie producer, they were hired to follow to expose his affair with a gun standing over his dead mistress Darla's body.

Sam and Eddie quickly discover Daria was not who she said she was. When searching her apartment, the private eye team uncovers multiple ID cards but are locked in a closet by a mystery man and the evidence goes missing. 

While working the case Eddie and Sam encounter Eddie's old PI partner Max. He was also following Daria but unknowingly leads the  PI team to the man who locked them in the closet. They learn Darla was sleeping with men and blackmailing them for money. 

Eddie takes Sam to a bar to talk to his friend Zeus, who is a high-level security guy. When she is late for her probation hearing and photos of her coming out of the bar surface, the judge orders her to spend the rest of her probation in prison.

In an emotional plea defending Sam, Eddie manages to convince the judge not to send her back to jail, but there is a catch. Sam must remain working for Eddie for the rest of her time on probation, which is six months.

Back on the case, they discover Brad had information on the whereabouts of Carlina. She's the former girlfriend of a cartel drug dealer. Despite being hired to use Brad to find Carlina, Daria had a plan to save her. Sam and Eddie follow through with the plan. Carlina is saved, and the bad guys are caught.
