On The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 20, the team deals with a variety of losses while trying to save lives in the aftermath of an earthquake.

Melendez insists he's fine and ready to go back to work, but Claire says he needs to get checked out. His brain scans are fine, but he is suffering from confusion and Claire realizes he is bleeding internally.

Melendez is a terrible patient because he knows all the risks and doesn't want to hear them. Claire convinces him to have abdominal surgery. She and Lim discover a bowel recession. When he wakes up, she and Lim give him the news. He has the medical knowledge to realize he is dying.

Meanwhile, Lim and Park attempt to operate on Casey but it is not possible and Park must tell Casey that he is going to die. They try and fail to reach Casey's father in time. Casey tells Park that he killed his mother. He knew she was addicted to pain pills but said nothing. Park pretends to be Casey's father so that a delirious Casey can die in peace.

There is also bad news for Morgan, while Shaun tries to save Vera but puts himself at risk of drowning.
