The Good Doctor Season 6 Episode 1 picks up where the series left off. Shaun and Lea at first dance happily, unaware of the violence nearby. Andrews and Glassman head to the hospital and run into the perp without being aware that's who it is. When they all get off the elevator, the perp stabs a security guard and steals his gun, causing Andrews to put the hospital on lockdown.

Shaun and Jordan insist on going back in to help. They find Lim and Villanueva before Glassman and Andrews do.

In the OR, Shaun and Glassman disagree about how to treat Lim's injuries, as happens between Glassman and Andrews when Glassman is called into the other room. Shaun does what he wants and Lim survives but ends up needing more surgery.

Meanwhile, Morgan and Asher try to treat a patient but the gunman catches Asher. Asher convinces him to give himself up, but instead he purposely gets the police to shoot him.

Both the gunman and Lim need the bypass machine but there is only one. Glassman makes the call that the gunman gets it. Shaun melts down when Lim's surgery doesn't go well.
