Recap

Yennefer stands by a window when Geralt walks in. She rushes to embrace him. He comments that he was only at the market and how he looks forward to their future as a family. Yennefer is very pregnant. A voice whispers that it's a pretty dream.

Yennefer wakes up and there's a baby crying in its bassinet. Suddenly it bursts into flame and screams. Yennefer calls for Geralt and has flashes of a red-robed figure. She turns and sees the figure holding a baby. The figure reveals the baby. It has elven ears.

Yennefer wakes in a wagon next to Fringilla. Fringilla is having a nightmare too.

The wagon stops and their captors, elves, drag them out, shackled together.

They approach an elven encampment. Filavandrel is their head captor and lead them to Francesca. Fringilla tries to negotiate with her and ends up bespelled into unconsciousness. Francesca and Filavandrel clash over their plans.

Ciri and Geralt ride through a snowy pass. They arrive at Kaer Morhen. The other witchers welcome him. As they recount their year's adventures, Eskel arrives. He is wounded from a fight with a leshy. He's brought the hand back for Vesemir. Vesemir censures him for not fighting smarter. Ciri laughs with the others and Eskel take umbrage.

Geralt practices his sword drills. Vesemir checks in with him.

Ciri explores Kaer Morhen, looking for a room to sleep in. After Eskel assures her they're all terrible, she chooses one and unfolds the royal fabric she brought from Cintra.

Fringilla wakes up tied with Yennefer to a tree. Yennefer asks about her nightmare to see if she dreamed of someone hidden in a robe as well.

At the elves' fire, Filavandrel asks Francesca how long they must look for Dol Blathanna, the Elven Kingdom, before they give up. Francesca insists they must keep up the hope for an elven future.

Yennefer and Fringilla try to catch Filavandrel's attention. Fringilla shares their dreams of robed figures.

As Filvandrel considers their proposition, a shout goes up that the elves have found something.

Geralt starts dissecting the leshy arm Eskel brought back. Ciri asks if studying monsters is all they'll be doing over the winter.

They hear sounds from above. The other witchers are throwing a bawdy party with women from the brothel in the town. Geralt asks Vesemir about it and tells Eskel he shouldn't have brought the women to Kaer Morhen. Ciri watches the interactions from above. Eskel's companion takes him somewhere to be alone.

Yennefer and Fringilla are brought to Francesca who asks about their dreams. Francesca shares that she believes her hooded figure is Ithlinne, guiding her to a future for elves. Fringilla believes her hooded figure is Emhyr. When it's Yennefer's turns, she says nothing but clears away the shrine items on the altar, revealing an inscription. She and Francesca translate it. "Behold the mother of forests, the deathless mother, nesting in dreams." It's followed by an incantation about a hut without doors.

Fringilla connects it to a folktale of a witch in the woods.

The altar suddenly slides away, revealing a staircase in the ground.

While the party continues upstairs, Ciri examines the weapons in the labs. Vesemir joins her to tell her about the artifacts, including a dagger that a demon in the woods used to kill Klef, one of the first witchers.

Eskel and his companion start to have sex. The sting on his shoulder grows a tendril.

Francesca leads the way through a wood. Fringilla shares the details of her nightmare with Yennefer.

Suddenly they find the hut with no doors. Francesca invokes the incantation and the hut turns lit windows towards them, blinding them.

Geralt finds Vesemir and asks if he's seen Ciri. While they're talking, the medallion tree begins to shake. The witchers sense a monster in Kaer Morhen. They deploy.

The women hide in Ciri's room and other rooms in the wing. Geralt hunts the monster.

Each of Yennefer, Francesca, and Fringilla wake up with their hooded figure.

Yennefer's throws off the hood and reveals herself to be a young woman.

Francesca's is Ithlinne.

Fringilla knows that her figure is not Emhyr although it presents itself as him.

The figures demand Francesca and Fringilla ask for what they want. Yennefer refuses but her figure is sure she'll ask eventually because Yennefer can no longer wield magic. The girl begins to transform and takes the form of Voleth Meir. She predicts Yennefer will become so desperate for her power, she will beg her for it.

Geralt enters the lab where Eskel and his companion had been. The woman is dead, encased in leshy roots. Geralt fights of tendrils but is captured. The leshy appears. Geralt frees himself with fire and realizes the leshy is Eskel.

Vesemir joins the fight.

The brothel women run away from Kaer Morhen, leaving Ciri alone in her room.

Vesemir wants to try to save Eskel, but Eskel wraps his teacher in tendrils and is killing him. Geralt kills Eskel to save Vesemir.

Yennefer wakes in the woods. Fringilla and the elves are walking to Cintra together, having agreed to an alliance.

Geralt comes to find Ciri in her room. He takes her to the courtyard and offers to train her.

Yennefer runs away from Fringilla and Francesca's entourage, trying to invoke chaos and magic, and failing.
