This Is Us Season 4 Episode 14 focuses on events taking place at the family cabin.

In the distant past, Jack asks everyone to contribute something to a time capsule that he plans to dig up in five years, unaware that he will not survive to dig it up. Randall can't decide what to put in the capsule, while the adults discuss Jack's desire to build a house on the land across from the cabin.

Meanwhile, college-age Kate has another fight with Marc after he breaks a mug that belonged to Jack and he locks her out of the cabin during a snowstorm, while Rebecca can't get through because of a felled tree. The next morning, Rebecca, Randall, and Kevin arrive and quickly discover that things are worse than they thought.

And in the present, Kevin is upset that nobody told him about Rebecca's diagnosis when Randall was in LA for her visit to the specialist, while Kate and Randall both deal with anxieties about having left their spouses behind. And Toby freaks out when baby Jack starts to choke on a piece of egg.
