Recap

The last two weeks have brought tourists, prosperity, and new health to Hope Valley.

Rosemary and Leland are worrying about the baby because it’s a week overdue and not moving as often as before. Faith says everything is fine, but try not to think about it is the worst advice for this couple.

Lee brainstorms ideas to take their minds off of it, but Mike walks by saying, Oh, that baby is taking its own sweet time, and that’s just the first of the comments.

There’s a new fellow in town watching Bill and Jamie play basketball. The other kids don’t want to play with him, so Bill gives him advice to let them know he likes them.

Jack and Elizabeth sneak up on Lucas, and Jack is so excited to have “got” him.

Lucas has planned for him and Jack to have a party when Elizabeth supports Rosemary with the baby. And maybe Uncle Lee, too.

Rosemary is thrilled with Lucas’s attempt at outdoor seating. Rosemary stumbles over, saying it’s perfect, and Lucas worries over what he left out.

Jack asks Elizabeth what Rosemary and Lee were talking about and questions a mummy AND a daddy because that’s not his experience.

Madeline is in Bill’s booth again, and Madeline laughs it off, and Bill joins her. She considers a house in the country, aka Hope Valley, and perhaps even staying here.

Nathan and Scout are getting closer, and Faith notices. She thanks Nathan for coming after her and hopes he’ll consider tagging along the next time.

When Scout barks at the new fellow, he falls on the steps and gets a splinter. Faith comes to the rescue, but Nathan notices something might be off.

Henry is working with the horses, which he’s grown to appreciate more every day. Joseph offers an ear for Henry should he want to talk. Henry says he’s just tired.

The kid is running errands from Eagle Creek, which is on the other side of Rock Creek. When Faith goes to get more gauze, he jumps out the window with a can of lard in his pocket. He says he’s done nothing wrong, but Nathan knows better. Faith reminds Nathan he’s just a kid, but then they realize the kid is the bandit.

Jack asks about his daddy and the location of heaven. Elizabeth has something to show him.

Faith is disconcerted about the kid and why he did what he did. She thinks there must have been a reason. Everything in the valley has dried up. There’s no work, and he has two sisters. Nathan isn’t impressed.

Elizabeth gives Little Jack Jack’s Mountie hat. He wonders if he can wear it if he’s very, very careful. Of course. How do I look? You look just like your daddy, Elizabeth says.

Rosemary begins getting labor pains, and her drama training takes the experience to extremes as she screams GET FAITH! Florence and Molly set out to find Faith, and everyone gathers. Rosemary is both excited and scared, crying through the pain.

It’s absolutely hilarious. Mei, Molly, and Minnie begin to cook and pray, and Lucas and Lee prepare for a long day next door.

Jamie wants to go home because nobody is nice to him. He apologizes to the other kids while almost speaking down to them, but Cooper embraces him. He was once the new kid in town, too.

Mike takes Madeline out looking for land. She finds town land she loves. She asks about Bill, and Mike regales her with all of his accomplishments.

Joseph visits Bill to talk about Henry. Joseph understands that Henry wanted to go to prison to atone for all the lives that were lost in the mining disaster, and even saving more lives didn’t help. Joseph has an idea.

When Nathan chats with the kid, whose name we still don’t know, and wonders if there’s something he can do to help him.

Madeline talks to Bill about the land, but he doesn’t have good news. She intends to work him over to put the land for sale.

While Rosemary is in labor, she and Elizabeth talk about when Elizabeth gave birth to Little Jack, recalling Abigail and a Christmas salami.

Lucas and Jack talk about Jack’s daddy. That conversation gets Jack the ice cream he’d prefer over a sandwich.

Nathan wanders by when Elizabeth is outside. Elizabeth is realizing how hard it was for her not to have a husband then and now. She’s struggling with how much to tell Jack and when. Nathan says that, in his opinion, they’ll let you know when they’re ready for what.

Ned and Florence put on grim faces as they tell the kid they will allow him to work off what he had stolen. They are sweethearts, and such faces are tough.

Bill says that Judge Kimball has had second thoughts on the mischief charge, and he’s already been sentenced to community service. Joseph wants him to build something with his hands, as it’s good for his soul. Henry calls them terrible liars but says he’ll do it anyway.

Mike wonders if they can’t sell Madeline town land; what about Bill’s land, which he has wanted to sell for years? Bill says he thinks something is off about her. When Madeline intervenes, she and Bill have a very nice conversation, and both walk away feeling better.

When the contractions are two minutes apart, Rosemary is not doing well emotionally. She won’t pull herself together, and it could raise her blood pressure. Elizabeth knows Rosemary needs Lee. As Elizabeth is ready to enter, Lee has already made up his mind to go to her. With Lee at her side, Rosemary calms considerably.

Lucas brought Elizabeth her candle, and he let everyone else know it was time to surround her with the love they promised. Everyone gathers outside of the house, lights in hand.

Faith emerges from the house. It’s a girl. They haven’t decided on a first name yet, but the middle name was Elizabeth. Elizabeth is walking the kids to school, and they walk past Jamie, and they all agree he should come along.

When Calls the Heart Season 10 Episode 4 Quotes

Jack: Mummy?
Elizabeth: Yes, honey bear?
Jack: If Uncle Lee’s going to a daddy, when can I see my daddy?
Elizabeth: Oh, sweetheart, don’t you remember what we talked about? Your daddy is in heaven.
Jack: But where’s heaven?
Elizabeth: Well, heaven is up above us, and I know that may seem far away, but your daddy is also in our hearts. Here, and right here, and that’s where he’ll always be.

Well, a little word of advice, Jamie. If you want the other kids to like you, you’ve got to show that you like them.

Bill
