Recap

Bill and Madeline seem to meet for coffee everyday, and it’s almost like a dance between them. She still wants him to sell the town’s land.

Rosemary and Lee are thrilled with their new family. It’s been three weeks since the baby was born. The ladies arrive with food, eager to see the baby. The couple still has not named the baby. Hoping for perfection seems odd as the baby goes unnamed.

Elizabeth chats with Henry on the way to school, and he makes a joke. When she asks if he has room for another project, he makes another, both times surprising Henry.

He balks when he realizes that she wants him to help the students build garden boxes but agrees nonetheless.

Nathan and Allie are going camping, and he’s worried that their conversation might not be good since things have been difficult. But then Allie asks if Angela can go too, and that takes Nathan off the hook.

Fiona and Mei are beginning spa treatments using the hot springs. They get their first customer when someone drops by for a hair appointment and spots Faith covered mask samples.

Minnie and Joseph aren’t thrilled about letting Angela go on a camping trip. She seems less blind this season, if that could possibly be a thing.

Lucas wants to build Elizabeth a house as a surprise, and Bill and Mike give him the old, good luck with that feedback. Bill says in his experience, it’s best to discuss such decisions between them, but Lucas is all in.

Rosemary and Lee aren’t interested in more company when Elizabeth and Lucas arrive with roast. Lucas wants to plan a dinner for them, but Rosemary doesn’t want to leave the baby yet. Lee is interested, but not Rosemary, who instead suggests they leave Little Jack with them so they can have a date night.

Bill talks to Nathan about Madeline and Jamie and how he might consider selling his land. He’s so aggravated, and even Nathan recognizes there’s more to it than land.

Henry seems to enjoy working with the children.

Madeline makes a phone call about “her situation” that she’s working on and how she just needs a little more time.

The first spa customer is quite impressed, but Faith and Fiona think something is off about Mei, who rushes off.

When the kids want to start planting, Henry offers that he’ll be there tomorrow to help. He doesn’t like to leave a job unfinished.

Madeline and Bill have another weird conversation, the content of which can be found in the When Calls the Heart Quotes.

Joseph shows up to camp, and Nathan is thrilled.

Lucas shows Jack a castle he wants to build, and when Elizabeth says she’d like to see one in Hope Valley, it bolsters his confidence.

Nathan and Joseph talk about how happy they are that Allie and Angela have found each other.

Rosemary thinks having two babies at once is going quite well. Jack reminds her he is not a baby.

Jack has a drawing for Elizabeth and for Rosemary’s mommy and then notices she’s sad. But she’s the happiest she’s ever been.

Lucas has prepared a very romantic evening with Mike’s help, closing down the saloon to accomplish it. Lucas brings up the castle again, saying that perhaps he’ll give her one as a wedding present. She wonders what he’s up to, and he tells her before they dance.

As they dance, her face falls a bit.

Planting has begun in the garden boxes. A little girl named Sarah who was worried about her pumpkin plant is worried that it will be lonely if she leaves Hope Valley. Henry has a lovely thing to say about pumpkins and friendship.

Allie and Angela are getting along great, and it seems as if romance may be brewing.

Elizabeth visits Rosemary, who is exhausted. She tries to get Rosemary to understand that they need to take time for themselves, and since Lee is taking a nap, Elizabeth sends Rosemary upstairs to join him.

Nathan and Joseph chat about taking time for themselves, and Joseph says he has a hard time saying no. Nathan responds that if you don’t say no, you can’t focus on the things you’ve said yes to. His philosophical nature surprises Joseph and Nathan, too.

Rosemary and Lee wake to a clean house and a not from Elizabeth to join her at 7 for tea.

Bill finds Jamie sad that he’s leaving. Bill is not pleased. Mike says maybe you should have sold her the land, and he says, I can see that. He tells her that he wants to sell it to Madeline. Is this what she wanted all along? Is she going to double cross him?

Lucas and Elizabeth have prepared dinner for Rosemary and Lee.

Fiona doesn’t understand Mei’s hesitancy to share that they are using her grandmother’s recipe. She thinks the tourists will not be happy that she’s only just begun using her grandmother’s recipes. Fiona asks her never to apologize for who she is because who she is is pretty great.

Rosemary and Lee are so happy that they’ve been shown that it’s alright to ask for help. They toast to family, which is how they all consider themselves.

Angela plays the little guitar thing and sings, which throws Joseph for a loop. He’s so glad he was here so he didn’t miss it.

Mei chooses to name the face mask after her grandmother. She’s finally happy.

Elizabeth and Rosemary decide they should do dinner every week. When Rosemary finds out that Lucas wants move across time, she panics. The idea of Elizabeth even going just across town catches her off guard. Elizabeth seems to think that it’s not settled with Lucas.

When Calls the Heart Season 10 Episode 5 Quotes

Bill: I have some news. I have found some land for you. A man named Paul Harper is looking to offload some acreage. Now, it doesn’t have a stream, but it has great mountain views.
Madeline: Oh, without a stream, it won’t work for me.
Bill: Well, for someone who’s looking to move quick, you’re awfully picky.
Madeline: I know. My late husband used to take Jamie fly fishing. I wanted to bring back some good memories.
Bill: Stream and fly fishing, huh? Oh. I’m sure something will turn up.
Madeline: Sadly, time doesn’t appear to be on my side. Bill, I appreciate everything you have done. Really, I do.

Lucas: So, now we’re going out, and they’re babysitting.
Elizabeth: That’s what Rosemary said.
Lucas: Well, I guess I can’t complain.
