Recap

Toby, Allie, Cooper, and Angela are annoyed that the tourists are hogging the hot springs. One of the tourists yells at them, and the children complain to Mike that they found the hot springs.

Minnie appreciates the extra business at the cafe, suggests celebrating with a community BBQ, and jokes her mom's St. Louis sauce is the best.

Elizabeth and Lucas overhear the children grumbling about the hot springs. Lucas maintains that tourists help the economy but agrees to help the children find a solution when they are upset.

Lee and Rosemary take the baby to Faith. They still haven't named her. Last time, she was named Myrtle. Now they're trying Gussy after Lee's great-grandmother, but none of these names feel right.

The bandit, Harry, is still helping the Yosts. He asks Nathan to check on his family on his rounds.

Elizabeth teaches her class about problem-solving when there are many points of view, such as Cooper says there are too many tourists at the hot springs. Elizabeth helps them decipher the root of the problem, which is sharing the hot springs, and encourages them to think of a compromise.

The kids meet at the saloon to brainstorm. Allie suggests the tourists use one pool and they use the other, but Mr. Mitchell refuses to have the children nearby, or he and his wife will leave. Lucas calms him down, joins the kids, and teaches them the art of negotiation.

Madeline overhears Harry telling Nathan about a rep buying all the land in the valley and the well going dry there. I don't trust her.

Allie is frustrated that no tourists will cooperate with a sign-up sheet and want to use the hot springs freely. While Nathan teases Lucas about teaching the kids card analogies, Elizabeth appreciates him teaching them how to handle real-world issues.

Bill gives Madeline paperwork from Union City to make the sale official. He also invites her to the BBQ, but she blows him off. I fear she's hiding something.

Faith and Rosemary have an emotional chat. Faith suspects that Rosemary is grieving her mom now that she is a mother to a daughter. As Rosemary later tells Elizabeth, she has many questions, the most important being why her mom left.

Elizabeth and Lee asked Joseph for advice in comforting Rosemary. He advises not to downplay her grief and to be there for her. Elizabeth remembers mementos she kept from Jack, bringing her comfort, and wonders if Rosemary has anything from her mom.

Lee remembers an old trunk they gave away, but luckily, Joseph never disposed of it. Rosemary is relieved no one listened to her, and they find many letters from her mom, which opens more questions for her.

Rosemary finally feels connected to her and understands that her mom wanted contact with her, but her dad had sole custody, and times were different then.

Jamie does not want to move home. He likes having friends in Hope Valley, which puts a wrinkle in Madeline's plan.

Lucas realizes the tourists are bored, and Elizabeth thinks they need to find more for them to do. Mike suggests taking calisthenics but is unsure if the tourists would like an exercise class. Mr. Mitchell agrees to consider the schedule if there are more activities offered.

More people showed up at the BBQ. Madeline and Jamie came. Even Mr. Mitchell came. There were many old-fashioned games with the tug-of-war, the bean bag toss, and football.

The Coulters finally arrived and announced they named their daughter Marigold Elizabeth Coulter after Rosemary's mom.

The battle over the hot springs was over. The kids used the pool in the morning while Mike led an exercise class. Mr. Mitchell arrived early, but they kindly allowed him to use the other pool.

When Calls the Heart Season 10 Episode 6 Quotes

Lucas: Compromise is just a negotiation. Each side needs to feel like they’re getting what they want. You want time at the hot springs. How much time will you settle for?
Toby: A few hours a day and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Allie: Toby, the tourists won’t agree to that!
Lucas: You don’t know what they’ll agree to, but don’t show them your cards. Find out what the tourists will agree to before you tell them what you will agree to. That way, they can’t lowball you.

Cooper: All everybody talks about is how the tourists have a right to be up there.
Angela: But a lot of people have benefitted from the tourists, including our parents.
