Recap

Very cool camera work reminding us of the meal they had on Episode 2, as Ben stays in bed, thinking about making a meal with his boyfriend in the future.

Natalie is sitting on the porch when Taissa comes out. Tai looks at the body and begins to scream something ate her, but Van says, Taissa, we ate her. This isn't the first time she's disassociated, but it would have been enough to do it if she hadn't.

Van asks again if she really doesn't remember and tells her that she ate her face. Tai vomits.

Nobody wants to eat in the morning, and Natalie says she'll take the body elsewhere so they can bury her with the rest of them when the ground thaws.

Natalie is watching one of Lottie's sessions at the compound before taking a stroll around the property. She sees Lottie's quarters and after asking the girl she poked with a fork why it's locked with all the trust they're bulding around here, the girl, who is holding a chicken, chops off its head.

Tai is asleep standing up in Simone's hospital room. She's dreaming Simone speaking to her with blood running down her face. She jerks awake, and the nurse notes the symbol she drew on Simone's hand is pretty. Tai says it's for luck. When the nurse leaves, Tai rubs it off.

Misty is on her way to the dock to meet the Citizen Detective, Walter Tattersal. He finds her investigation skills top notch. They have very little time to talk before Randy is walking up the dock, forcing Misty to hide since she's known him for decades.

Shauna and Jeff are talking about strawberry lube and the moment he chose to be that version of himself. He says since he's so boring, he doesn't blame her for sleeping with an artist. But she says it's not about him. It made her feel like she didn't know what was going to happen, and it wasn't the boring version she has of herself, so that was exciting.

On the way home, Jeff takes a sharp turn. He's taking them to Colonial Williamsburg to be spontaneous. He almost runs over a guy, but he's conning them, pulling a gun on them. Shauna gets the upper hand, and the dude steals their car, prompting an argument between them.

Her purse was in the car, plus all their quarters, her new crosstrainers and Mr. Schwoozems, Callie's old toy that she probably loved more than Shauna. That's what comes to her mind at that moment. Jeff just walks away while Shauna pockets the gun.

Natalie is looking at an activity board at the compound when Lottie asks her to join an activity. Natalie's not really a joiner, she says. So, Lottie takes her to their beehives with a lovely tale about the queen who kills all the other queens when she ascends.

Natalie is removing what remains of Jackie. Lottie and Travis are both worried, but she sets out on her own. Shauna watches from the window, and tells Lottie it's what Jackie would have wanted. Lottie says maybe for her and the baby, but not the rest of them. Shauna feels all fucked up, but Lottie says they all did it together.

Shauna worries that she's going to hurt the baby, but Lottie disagrees. Shauna will be a great mom and all of them can help. It will be a beautiful thing. Lottie wants to do something to welcome him, and Shauna says, him? Everyone get excited at the proposition of a baby shower.

Misty and Walter are communicating through cell phones when Misty scream whispers HIT HIM. Hit him right now! Walter claims IBS to get more details, and when he returns, he pops Randy in the face twice.

Akilah and Tai talk about babies. Akilah has a nephew she misses. He laughs at everything. The others are busy making country crafts. Misty is talking with another girl, and they wish they could have made broth because it would have been so good. That's when the other girl admits she's eaten someone before when she absorbed her twin in the womb.

Ben's having visions of the girls eating, so he retreats back into his memories of him and Paul. Paul offers him a set of keys, but Ben uses the team as an excuse not to move in with him. He can't bail on them. They need him.

But Paul needs someone who is ready to live all of his life with him, and Ben won't do that, so he asks him to leave.

Natalie gets to the plane, where she drops off what remains of Jackie, telling her she's lucky because shit is going to get a lot worse out here. Jackie's already dead, so she gets to make everyone jealous one last time. Natalie apologizes for doing what they did but thanks her for possbibly being the the reason they survive the winter.

Natalie hears movement, and outside is a giant, beautiful white moose. She tries to shoot it but misses. It charges the door of the plane knocking her down and disappears.

On the boat, questioning Randy kicks into overdrive. Walter picks up a dremel talking about ISIS. Randy's voice is high pitched as he tries to remember what he can. What he does remember is a group of people wearing purple in a van who drank all the Fanta out of the soda machine.

Misty and that gal are under a blanket. Van releases Tai from her tether and asks if she can follow. She follows "the one with no eyes." Van asks questions trying to understand. Tai takes Van into the woods to a particular tree with a symbol on it. She wakes, wondering where they are. When Van asks about the one with no eyes, Tai flashes back to a mirror reflecting an open door and a spirit looking person with, you guessed it, no eyes.

Jeff is lifting weights at the gym when Kevyn arrives. He wants to know why he upset Shauna. He can't really think Shauna has something to do with the missing art guy, right? Kevyn wonders if Jeff knew about the hundreds of texts. Kevyn then reveals the affair, and Jeff says that he knows Shauna and trusts her implicitly. Kevyn's got bad intel.

Shauna's dropped off by an uber driver who asks if she's sure this is where she wants to go. She seems to be tracking her car on an app. She's brandishing the gun when she enters a garage where someone is welding. There's a guy in the office. She asks him for her minivan, which was stolen. He says it's one thing to point a gun, but another to use it. She calls his bluff, scaring him half to death. She gets the minivan, but I think she's aching to kill the guy.

Ben is telling Paul that he quit, which confuses Paul since Ben was supposed to leave today to fly to Nashville. But if he got on that plane, he was committing to the most pathetic version of himself, a closeted guy who is safe. But there is no safe, and he wants to live how he wants to, how he's meant to, which means living with Paul. But that wasn't what happened at all. In his dream, he sees a newscast announcing the plane to Nashville never landed.

At the baby shower, Misty performs a monologue from Steel Magnolias, the scene when the mom screams and cries about losing her daughter.

Travis checks on Ben but doesn't get a response.

The monologue is actually pretty good.

At the hospital, Tai takes pills in the restroom. She looks awful. She turns away from the mirror, but she's still looking at herself in the mirror, and when she turns around again, she sees her own face attempting to speak and demands to know what she wants.

Misty and Walter say it was a bust, but she's got to go. Then Misty says maybe the purple people used a credit card to buy the Fanta. Walter wants to know why she keeps downvoting his Adam Martin posts, which is tarnishing his impeccable reputation. She says she's friendly with Adam's mother, and her life got really hard when Adam became an addict. Mrs. Martin would hate that information to get out into the world.

Walter admits the woman he took to the nursing home wasn't his mother and says maybe he's just a bored Moriarty looking for his Sherlock.

Shauna gets home, returning Mr. Schwoozems to Callie. Jeff gets home, wondering how the van got back.

Class is in session, and Lottie calls on Natalie to do whatever it is they are doing at the compound. Lottie asks if there's anything she wants to process with the group. She calls fork-girl Lisa up to tell Natalie how that made her feel. Lisa felt fear and disappointment since Natalie knew she was trying to help her. They saved her life. Lottie tells Lisa to go into her anger, explore and honor it. She also gives Lisa a fork to go ahead and hurt Natalie back. Lisa aproaches Natalie with tears streaming down her face. She drops the fork, embraces Natalie, and says she understands and forgives her.

At the baby shower, Natalie doesn't understand why Lottie would give Shauna a baby blanket with the symbol on it that clearly didn't protect the dead man who was sporting it. Shauna's nose begins to bleed, and it sounds like someone is running on the roof. It's a bunch of birds dropping out of the sky. Lottie says they should gather its blessings, and they get the birds and place them at her feet.

On the compound, Lottie finds a bunch of bees dead on each hive. She opens the hive to find the entire colonies desecrated with what looks like blood. She's bereft.

Someone walks up to Lottie and speaks in another language. Lottie looks at her hands, and they're fine. So are the bees. The woman was asking if she's joining for lunch.

Yellowjackets Season 2 Episode 3 Quotes

Jeff: I'm taking us to Colonial Williamsburg.
Shauna: In Virginia??
Jeff: Yeah.
Shauna: Why??
Jeff: I'm being spontaneous. I'm takin' us out of our comfort zone, babe. You ever churned butter? I haven't.
Shauna: I have, actually. In first grade.
Jeff: Alright. Then we can blow glass, or we can do blacksmithing. Whatever!

You really don't remember? Tai, you ate her face.
