Recap

Zoey decides to "choose happiness" but is thrown upon learning she has to fire 10 percent of the fourth floor.

She struggles with this and has a hard time firing George.

Later that night, she gets drunk and rehires him over the phone.

Zoey has to again fire him the next day and tells George he should look at this as an opportunity to go after something's passionate about and work at a place where he's valued.

Simon, as the new company spokesman, is interviewed by Tatiana, a female reporter, and things seem to go well.

Maggie's new landscaping client flirts with her and asks her out.

Maggie feels it's too soon to date after Mitch's death, and Jenna reminds Maggie that it's OK to want to be wanted.

David is unhappy at his job and wants to quit.

Emily isn't thrilled about this idea, believing it will throw their future plans off course.

However, after a conversation with Zoey, Emily realizes she just wants David to be happy and gets on board.

Max and Mo hit their first challenge as partners.

Max feels Mo isn't pulling his weight, something which is intensified when Mo holds a karaoke cleansing.

However, Max later apologizes after Mo gets Max an interview with Tatiana and realizes Mo does care about their restaurant, but he just has a different process.

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 2 Episode 4 Quotes

Zoey: I don’t get how you’re so upbeat. I mean your drinks were just universally maligned, and you’re already coming up with new ones.
Mo: Unlike some people, I don’t want to wallow. I did enough of that with Eddie, and now that the boy is gone, I’m trying to get some positive vibes up in here.
Zoey: Can you explain to me how. Is it just saying it out loud?
Mo: Yes. I wake up each morning choosing to be happy.
Zoey: I wish it was that easy.
Mo: It is. You just have to consciously allow happiness in.
Zoey: You’re right. It is a choice. Nothing’s stopping me from making it. OK, from this point on, I am going to choose to be happy.

Zoey: Plus, it’s a depressant. Haven’t we all been depressed enough?
David: Whatever gets you over the breakup with Max.
Zoey: It wasn’t a breakup. It’s a pause.
David: Yeah, I don’t know what that means.
Emily: It means she’s single, and Simon’s back in the game. Did I mention I’m team him?
David: Several times.
