7. Glenn Frey

Glenn Frey
November 6, 1948 - January 18, 2016. Frey's own music and that with the Eagles are heard throughout many TV and movie scores. Frey was also an actor, first appearing as Jimmy Cole on an episode of Miami Vice titled "Smuggler's Blues in 1985, and then starring as Bobby Travis on Wiseguy in 1988, among a handful of other roles.

8. Abe Vigoda

Abe Vigoda
February 24, 1921 - January 26, 2016. Vigoda began on TV in 1949, leaping onto Dark Shadows in 1969, then to his best known role as Det. Phil Fish on Barney Miller in 1974, from which he spinned off his own series Fish in 1977. He continued to work throughout most of his life.

9. Mike Minor

Mike Minor
December 7, 1940 - January 28, 2016. Minor starred in 112 episodes of Petticoat Junction from 1964-70 as Steve Elliott. He also appeared in My Three Sons, The Beverly Hillbillies and All My Children, among others.

10. George Gaynes

George Gaynes
May 3, 1917 - February 15, 2016. Gaynes started on TV in 1955, soon snagging roles on The Patty Duke Show and Bonanza, before starring in several successful miniseries in the '70s. The star of several Police Academy movies, he starred in Punky Brewster from 1984-1988, among others.

11. Tony Burton

Tony Burton
March 23, 1937 - February 25, 2016. This real-life heavyweight boxer and Rocky actor, also left a mark on TV in small roles on shows such as Kijack, Baretta, Good Times, The Incredible Hulk, CHiPs, The Fall Guy and more.

12. George Kennedy

George Kennedy
February 18, 1925 - February 28, 2016. Oscar Winner Kennedy starred with Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke, as well as the Naked Gun series. He starred in the Airport movies and appeared on Gunsmoke, starred in Sarge and on 71 episodes of Dallas as Carter McKay.
