Now that the Buttons have made it to Daytona, they need to find a way to get there, so it’s all about fundraising on Stumble.
If you’ve been part of fundraising before, you’ll know how disappointing it can often be, but there are a few highlights along the way.
One of the quickest ways to raise money is to do a car wash, and the Buttons have their own idea in mind about how to make that a success, and we have an exclusive sneak peek of Stumble Season 1 Episode 11 that shows us how they’ll do it.
Cheerleaders and Car Washes Go Together
Look, we have cheerleaders, so a few stereotypical thoughts are going to come to mind.
There’s even a moment during the Stumble sneak peek that makes it look like they’ll go that route.
After only getting $11 from a two-hour wash, it’s clear they’re not sure this is worth the effort.
I get that, but instead of giving up, the team comes together once more. Zizi is quick to step forward to remind them who they are.
They’re young, hot cheerleaders, and that gives them the edge when it comes to doing a car wash.
They all know what they need to do.
The question is whether it’s what we’re thinking, as memories of ’90s teen movies come to mind. You know you’re thinking it too!

Just like with every other episode, Stumble breaks the mold. It steps away from the cliches and offers us something entertaining.
I could have seen the team get into bikinis, and there could have been some hilarious ways to do this.
There are guys on that team who would likely even consider getting into their bikinis, and I’m sure there were conversations with the writers about a Borat-style swimsuit for one of them.
Thankfully, Stumble hasn’t opted for that route, and it’s gone for something that ispure entertainment.
It’s a performance, and considering how supportive this town has become of this junior college team, it makes sense that they’re interested in the free performance.
It’s so great that they immediately make $50 off one wash — and that wash wasn’t even completed!
I do have to question where the boot prints are in the car, though, and it makes me question just what the cheerleaders are washing off these cars!
Buttons Candy Was Used for What?
Remember, this town is all about the Buttons candy, and Sally continually brings us fun facts about it.
As Peaches complains that the car wash took two hours, it turns out the candy is likely to blame.
At least, according to Sally, who is quick to point out that the candy was used as a suppository. Excuse me?
That cartoon advert just captures the heart of Headltston and everything we’ve come to know about the Button Factory.
The looks Peaches and Zizi had on their faces said everything that I was thinking! And now people eat that candy!
I do have a question for the cheerleaders, though, since Krystal is part of the team and already has a huge online following.
Wouldn’t it have been great for her to put something up on her social media?
She wants to get to Daytona just as much as the rest of them, so wouldn’t it make sense to leverage her cheerlebrity status? After all, she thinks that this documentary is all about her!
So, I’m surprised that this didn’t come up with the car wash.
Then I saw the line of cars — and remembered that it started with the caption saying they were in the Decontamination Area — and wondered if she had posted the car wash details.
Otherwise, why was there already a line when it was all being done inside?
This is definitely something we’ll need to watch the episode to see, along with why so many people need a car wash in the first place. What did happen at the factory?
Quite honestly, I feel for this team, because fundraising isn’t easy.
At least the team is in the spotlight in their small town, and people want to see them succeed.
This gives them a step up against so many of us who have pushed to raise money for competitive sports, whether it’s hockey, cheerleading, or dance!
Something I hope to see is conversations about different fundraising ideas they could pursue.
The car wash cannot be the first idea, and with this quirky group of cheerleaders, there have to be a few unsavory or hilarious suggestions.
Stumble airs on Fridays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC, and it continues to break the stereotypes for comedy.
