The Republic of Sarah Season 1 Episode 4 Recap: In Us We Trust

Alexis Whitmore keeps making eyes at A.J. during choir practice. Tyler and Bella try to handle her being sent away to boarding school. Banks are charging Greylock residents fees for foreign transactions. So citizens are taking their purchases down the road to New Hampshire, threatening town businesses. Ellen tells Sarah she wants to go to rehab and needs Sarah as her sobriety supporter. Grover is Danny's neighbor at the motel. To beat the banks, Sarah proposes Greylock print its own currency, backed by coltan. Alexis vandalizes a mailbox for an excuse to see A.J. Sarah is leery of the rehab program Ellen has chosen. An upset Josh runs away from Corinne and into Danny. Corinne lashes out at Danny. William derides Sarah's currency plan. Sarah and Ellen argue about rehab options. Danny and Sarah get into it about her relationship with Ellen. Josh starts a bee-outfit trend. Sarah goes along with Ellen's rehab choice. Grover gives Danny some perspective about Corinne. Residents are pulling their American money out of the bank. Her friends are going to promote the Greylock currency while Sarah takes Ellen to rehab. A.J. and Alexis find themselves on the rocks. Diego's hardware store is closing. Ellen gets cold feet but follows through. Danny won't tell Corinne why he left. Sarah arrives home to see all the businesses closing. Grover staged this so that citizens would realize what they would lose if they didn't buy into the Greylock currency. So people bought up all the currency. Tyler and the departing Bella profess their love for each other. Alexis took the job as the P.D. receptionist as a way to rekindle her relationship with A.J. The town's motto is "In Us We Trust." Sarah admits to Danny how conflicted she is about Ellen.
