Private Practice Granted a Full Season By ABC

by at . Comments

It's official! The Grey's Anatomy spinoff, Private Practice, has earned the trust of ABC and has been picked up for a full season, according to E! Online.

This is just the second new series to get picked up for a full 2007-08 television series. The CW's Gossip Girl was the first.

Sam and Addison

This week's episode of Private Practice, "In Which Addison Has a Very Casual Get Together," averaged approximately 12 million viewers, down from its premiere, but solidifying it as a bona fide success after just four episodes.

We hear that David Sutcliffe was also recently cast as a possible new love interest for Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh). Very interesting!

Congrats to Kate, the whole Private Practice cast and its writing team. We're looking forward to a full season - and hopefully many more.

Private Practice comes to an end tonight. In this exclusive interview, Amy Brenneman prepares fans for the farewell.

Congrats to Shonda and the entire cast of Private Practice. I'm loving the show. I missed it last Wednesday because I went to a lecture at my friends school, but my mother taped it for me. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but I'm going to tonight so I can catch up on my favorite neo-natal surgeon and her new group of friends. So far, this show looks like it may surpass Grey's as my favorite show. I guess either way, Shonda wins, right?

Darn it ... This is awesome! Glad that Private Practice will continue for a full season which means I can see Addie for a whole lot more!

I'm really glad we'll see more of Addie and her lot. Loved her on Grey's, and really think she has great dramatical potential...just one thing missing...more sexy, slow and hoooottttt kisses ;) Just keep on :)
