Glee Review: "Hairography"

by at . Comments

In terms of its storylines, this wasn't our favorite episode of Glee.

There was too much focus on Quinn's real pregnancy and Terri's imaginary one, the latter of which is especially grating and unrealistic. It really changes the tone of the series any time its featured.

One of the great things about Glee, however, is that it musical numbers can often make up for any wayward storytelling. That was the case during "Hairography," as it delivered a slew of great numbers.

As always, you can browse through them in our Glee music section. Which was your favorite single from the hour?

Will and Eve

Pregnancies aside, the show has set itself up well for a suspenseful sectionals episode. We love Sue Sylvester, but darn her for last night's actions!

Also as usual, the Glee cast uttered one hilarious quote after another. We've listed our favorite from "Hairography" below.

Mrs. Hitchens: Who do you think I am?
Sue: That's a very good question because I've forgotten both your names. | permalink
Kurt: You need something to distract from your horrible personality. Most of the time, I can't stand to be in the same room as you. | permalink
Kurt: Rachel manages to dress like a grandmother and a toddler at the same time. | permalink
Finn: If we're gonna do a song about hair, shouldn't we have more hair? | permalink

I feel almost opposite. Terri's pregnancy is rediculous yes--but that's the point of the show. It's as over the top as theater. I actually really liked the character/plot developement for Quinn and Terri. I almost cried when Quinn hugged Will because he'd be raising her child, and I wanted to kill Puck when he revealed the sexting thing. BUT, this was my least favorite episode song wise. The Hair segment was just rediculous. the concept of hairography was interesting, and it allowed for some interesting interplay between Sue and Will, but the song was uninteresting and painful to watch. Imagine was great yes, but on it's own it couldn't redeem Hair and that one they sing at the end.

I disagree a little - this episode was very pregnancy orientated because it has to be. the finale is going to expose terri's faux pregnancy, and this episode was key to showing quinn's hesitance to give the baby up, and terri's increasing guilt over the entire thing, and her panic that she'll be exposed. I liked the character development this episode. While not my favourite episode, the musical numbers were amazing, the concept of hairography was hilarious and I cannot wait for next week!
