NCIS Stars Dodge Tiva Questions, Tease Relationship

at . Comments

Some NCIS fans are getting tired of Tiva. Others can't get enough. Regardless, the lingering issues and unanswered questions surrounding Tony and Ziva keep piling up.

Will this season offer any resolution?

As far as what happened between them in Paris earlier this year, Michael Weatherly (Tony) thinks he has the answer ... or lack thereof. Confused yet? Is that the point?

“The truth of what happened is probably something that can be discovered inside the episode itself,” Weatherly tells EW, semi-cryptically. “If you really listen to what they say, I think that it's pretty clear what happened: Nothing.”

Tony and Ziva

For her part, Cote de Pablo (Ziva) thinks some questions should stay unanswered:

“If you solve something completely, especially on a TV show like this, it is no longer that fun. It is a complex relationship, and there is so much more to explore.”

That's a fair point.

As for whether they'll ever become more than co-workers, Weatherly opines: “I'm very happy with where things are right now, but you never know what will develop. The writers may one day think they’ve cracked the chemistry riddle."

"They may come to think they can make us a full-on couple without killing the chemistry and tension that make people watch. But making the audience get their cake and eat it too is not outside of [exec producer] Shane Brennan’s wheelhouse.”

Tell us what you think: NCIS' Tony and Ziva should ...

Argh, get together already, Tony and Ziva!! Just kidding ^^ Half the fun is the wait, right? Provided we Tiva fans get a happy ending, of course. I just love the sexual tension-filled banter and moments- however brief they may be- where us NCIS fans get a peek into Tony or Ziva's head when it regards the other. I hope we have more episodes like "Truth or Consequences" where one of them is in danger and the other reacts passionately, but for now "Jet Lag" does the trick ^^. Just, please... don't drag it out too long. Less hinting and more action? :) TIVA!!

I think that Tony and Ziva should end up together, but slowly ease into a romantic relationship rather than rushing them, for example, a couple of dates over a season leading to a 9th season perhaps where they get more serious and maybe move in together, but not have it in every episode, keep there banter and quirks koz niether character are the mushy type and they are both professional characters so i believe it is possible for them to keep a relationship separate from work focus. i think if the writers keep it as a sideline it wont turn NCIS into a soap opera which no one wants. and this leaves future open to more seasons but when the show finally comes to an end they should end up getting married. the NCIS writers are extremly intelegent and if they dont rush therelationship and keep it as a sideline it will keep all fans happy without dstrying the show! To all the people that make NCIS possible, i comend you all on your fabulous work and keep it up, you are doing an outstanding job :)

i dont see them getting together and by that i mean i dont see the writers showing them getting together i do see then having a relationship i just dont see there being a moment in an episode of them kissing saying "i love you" and then that being where their relationship begins. what i do see is an episode that reveals that they are already together, in a relationship, like an episode that forces them to come out and say "ALRIGHT WE'RE DATING!" i think that would be a huge twist I've actually put some thought in to it like the episode 'undercovers' except without the whole "do you think they bought it?" deal of course.

They definitely need to get together, but not have it work out, and have nobody know about it. Like one episode ends with Tony and ziva talking, and then it phloops. And then like ten or so episodes after, have very slight tender moments that just hint at it, and then the eleventh episode, they're suddenly very crabby to each other, and dighting about completely idiotic things. THEN, MAYBE, they find out that they broke rule number 12.

Enjoy the speculation...? Some fans might but an awful lot of us wish TIVA woulf go away!!!!

As much as I love Tiva, i still think they are really starting to drag everything out. Its really annoying me now. I dont really think they should become a serious couple, but more or less something sexy to spice up the show. Its beginning to lose the plot.
When I read the Ausiello post I was like 'THAT is not a spoiler. That is the actors giving their opinion on stuff we kind of already know'. Its not going anywhere.
Dont get me wrong, Im a huge Tiva fan, i love the chemistry they provide the show on the sideline to the great storylines. But right now, its going... nowhere.

YUCK.......couldn't even reply to your survery....because I hate what they've done - the romantic chemistry is forced and it doesn't fit with either character. So I need C) Neither....let it alone!!!

NCIS Quotes

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.

Tony: One other question, I know you're an expert in English history. And I was just wondering, have you ever heard of Archibald Drummond, the 17th Earl of Trent?
Ducky: The Earl of Trent. No, I can't say I have. Why?
Tony: I was just wondering. Thanks.
