Gossip Girl Round Table: "The Unblairable Lightness of Being"

at . Comments

Welcome to TV Fanatic's Gossip Girl Round Table, where our staffers have gathered to review "The Unblairable Lightness of Being" and preview developments to come.

DANdy, Gossip Guy and Mister Meester take on last night's top quotes, whether Chuck should be forgiven, Jenny's shadiness, Dorota's wedding and much more here:

1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote last night?

DANdy: Elliot is "tight" with Dorota because they "talked about The Vampire Diaries in the elevator on Friday?" That's amazing and hilarious. I'll forgive the blatant CW plug because the show in question is so darn good.

Gossip Guy: With out a doubt Chuck for calling out Serenate's biggest problem, "whose hair is more shiny?" I have got to find out whatever product those two are using.

Mister Meester: Tie: 1. Jenny "I hate to be the one to tell you, but Serena left with Carter." Yeah, I'm sure you really hate that, you conniving little ... 2. Eleanor's name-dropping of Bing. LOL. There's no way Eleanor Waldorf knows what the eff Bing even is, let alone uses it to look up wedding venues ... or says it OUT LOUD.

2. Should Blair have forgiven Chuck?

DANdy: Yes. She's denying who she is, don't you think? There's no proper definition of a healthy relationship, so while Dorota and Vanya may have something special, so do Blair and Chuck. Just B yourself, B. Stop pretending.

Gossip Guy: Absolutely, because as Blair said, it was just as much her fault. I don't care if Chuck was trying to trick Blair into sleeping with Jack... she said decided to go ahead with it before she even knew. Gross. The better question is, should Chuck have forgiven Blair? Either way, in order to keep the millions of Chair fans out there from revolting, I'll go with yes.

Mister Meester: Chuck's kidding himself if he thinks Blair going up there willingly absolves him of responsibility. He said it himself: He made the deal. Whether Blair ever forgives him is unclear, but as a wise man once said, proof that he is sorry will not come in the form of words, but in the form of actions, over time. Let's just hope Chuck doesn't nail 15 cocktail waitresses too.

3. Shadiest character of the night: Carter, Jenny or Lily?

DANdy: Jenny is acting shadier than the apparatus that covers a lamp's light bulb.

Gossip Guy: Impressively enough, I'm going to give it to the character who never even appeared on screen: Lily Humphrey. Or is it Van Der Woodsen? Bass? Rhodes? Hochberger? Much like Rufus, we're having a tough time keeping up with this shady character.

Mister Meester: Carter should have told Serena what he knew right off the bat, and when is Jenny not asking for trouble these days? Still, I'm giving this one to Lily. She is married to Rufus. She lies constantly. There is no upside anymore.

Dorota and Vanya

Dorota and Vanya tie the knot.

4. Basing an episode around Dorota's wedding: Cute or boring?

DANdy: Cute! They could base an entire series around Dorota and I'd be excited. Possible titles for it: Dorota the Explorer; Vanya? I Hardly Know Ya!; and Maid in Queens.

Gossip Guy: I've been a big Dorota fan, but this is getting ridiculous. Giving a minor supporting character the primary story line? At least the writers found a way to nicely integrate Chair's story into it. Plus, any excuse to bring back Cyrus and get him so excited was okay with me. So boring, yet salvaged by a talented writing staff.

Mister Meester: I can do without some of the lines that feel like Borat quotes, but Vanya and Dorota are pretty much the cutest ever, and the episode did tie into the other characters' story lines fairly well, so it didn't feel too gimmicky to me.

5. Who would you rather see hook up, Nate and Jenny or Dan and Blair?

DANdy: I'm sorry. Can you give me a few minutes to answer? I need to go wash the vomit out of my mouth at the idea of Nate and Jenny hooking up.

Gossip Guy: Is there an option C, none of the above? I love Chair and Serenate is simply too good looking to mess with. But if you're holding me at gunpoint, I'll go with Dair. I'm not sure why, but there'd be something hot about these two frenemies getting together ... Jenny is much too young to keep being statutory raped by these older gentlemen.

Mister Meester: Jenny and Nate. Not because I think there's some great chemistry there, but because I want to see some serious $h!t go down before the end of this season. If those two characters started full-on hooking up, I think we'd be in store for that.

I don't mind Blair being with another guy that isn't Chuck for a while, but I don't want Dan and Blair hooking up. Stop mix and matching all the couples.

Although this episode has left me devasteted, I can barely comment on it and I´ve been numb in my work all day, I have to say something. The thing with Chuck´s dream at the beginning was actually hillarious when we all believed it was going to be really dramatic, and I think it was because of the music. I mean, seriously, we all know that Blair´s dreams are based on really famous, recognized movies, but his dream was based on what movie? It does look like a 50's, 60's movie, but a B Movie.

I would love to see Blair and Dan hook up! Jenny and Nate together would be atrocious - she's just too skeezy at the moment, I mean really, Rufus make your daughter wear some clothes for goodness sake! And as much as I love Chair, I think Blair needs some time in a normal relaxing relationship, and who better than Dan, who seems to be the most down to earth character on GG at the moment. Dan can be the writer to Blair's Holly Golightly and they can go and have adventures in overcoats together. Pure bliss!

I hate this episode to in so many ways yet I love at the same time.
The whole Nate and Serena and Jenny thing is taking too long to blow over, so I'm glad something is going to go down withe them next episode. It is getting soooooo boring. I love when Chuck said to Nate something about him being naive. So true. I love when Chuck didses Nate and Serena, when he said something about up until not the only thing they had to worry about was "whose hair is more shiny." Haha
The return of Carter Baizen was not at all exciting in any way. The producers just make him pop oout of nowhere, still claiming to looking for Serena's dad. Umm, didn't he and her had this huge thing going before he left, did they just forget all about that? I find it disappointing because it seemed to be very out of character.
So the past week Lily has been spending time with Serena's dad? Sooooo scandalous, is I haven't heard that storyline like 100 times.
What I do NOT like at ALL is Dan getting into the midst of it all. This awkward, mumbling fool needs to stay out of it because right now I am getting a sense that he is going to be in part of Blair's life more than before, whether Vanessa is there or not. I am absolutely disgusted by the idea of Dan and Blair, I can't even stand the idea of them as friends. Plus something else that was out of character was how Blair became nice to Dan so soon. Just because the Humpreys married into money, doesn't make them high class. B
The best part of the episode was Chuck and Blair. They had so many good lines. The speech Chuck said to Blair at her house while getting ready for the wedding, was so romantic. I completely forgot about what he did to her last week. However, the one with Blair and Chuck alone and him giving her a necklace was kind of weird because the plotline started talking about Blair hating her relationship with Chuck, which is not true at all. I was almost in tears and not in a good way when Blair said to Chuck closer to the end, "I hate who I've become with you." I thought that quote just ruin everything that is Chair and again it is not true at all. Chuck and Blair are suppose to be who they want to be with each other, no one else. Though sometimes they bring out the worst, Chuck and Blair also brings out the best in each other. Honestly, I felt as if the writers were aking them run around the bush for the entire episode. Nothing new was really elevating from there story. That is not to say their story wasn't good because it was in fact the best one in the episode. I feel like it was just one bi coversation Chuck and Blair was having but keep getting cut off at times. Of course the one epic quote of the entire episode has got to be when Blair said to Chuck along the line of, "I never thought I could love something this much." This is enough fact to proove why they belong together not with anybody else. Best Couple Ever.
One thing I have to say is how sexy Chuck looked throughout the episode and how prett y Blair's dress and makeup and hair was.
Base on the promo next episode doesn't seem promising for a Chair reunion anytime soon, so I guess all there is to do is hope that it will and to take Josh and Steph words for it.
Chair Forever!!!!!

1. Blair's "Chuck and Blair, Blair and Chuck" to Dan
2. I think Blair is starting to forgive herself, so after Chuck finally see what a prick he was and does something about it...Blair can forgive him.
3. I've hated Jenny since she told Nate about Chuck and Blair, but what has Serena ever done to her?!? Lily has been ruined for me ever since she sent Serena to jail, so I don't really care.
4. It was cute. Dorota and everyone else is cute. But that Dorota/Blair scene?? AWESOME!
5. I hate Jenny, and don't think she deserves Nate, or anyone really. Not even Eric's friendship. I'm not too sure how I feel about Dair as a couple yet,(I'm too scared to accept them) but I've always wanted them to be friends. I think Dan will actually be a good friend to Blair, which I think she kind of lacks when compared to her loyalty. As long as Chair is endgame (and we see more than a single kiss in the series finale), bring whatever on with Blair. Nate, Carter, Dan, Cameron, anybody really.

Blair pissed me off in this episode. Fucken writers rewriting the characters, it makes no sense. So stupid, Chuck made so much progress this season, now its like just like season 1 again. Blair was nicest this season than anyother, but shes horrible with Chuck? Its the only time shes happy. Serena and Nate FINALLY get together and they make Jenny inlove with him? So fucked up.

I completely agree with Gossip Guy and DANdy. What Blair did was just as bad as Chuck! And Dan and Blair? That's completely disgusting.

Jenny and Nate. Not because I think there's some great chemistry there, but because I want to see some serious $h!t go down before the end of this season. If those two characters started full-on hooking up, I think we'd be in store for that. i agree completely 100 percent with mister meester

Gossip Guy and Dandy...are you freaking kidding me when you say it's blair's fault? Seriously, after what happened last week, i don't ever want to see chuck and blair together again because of what CHUCK did. It was completely sexist and degrading. And i thought it was equally horrible how blair blamed herself, as well as chuck blaming her. Chuck never even apologized sincerely instead pinning it on blair. What blair did was out of love (albeit a little twisted), what chuck did was out of selfishness and was completely degrading.

1. Nate: You're Blair Waldorf. Punishment is your middle name. 2. Eventully, when he finally mans up and truly apologizes for what he did. and I say what HE did. it's clear they are both willing to do things normal people would never do...but what is the motivation? Chuck "to win" Blair "Because I want to get Chuck his hotel back" She might have made the wrong choice...but Chuck baited her for Jack by telling him all of the things to say ...if he was really testing her, he should have done nothing and waited to see if she would do it on her own..I think we all know she wouldn't. It's simple to me...He chose his Hotel over Blair...and he is gonna have to demonstrate, something, how that is not the case, cuz so far, that is how I saw it go down. Blair chose Chuck's happiness over her own....BIG DIFFERENCE
3. Little J...Lily looks shady...but I don't believe she is being Shady...Little J however has demonstrated being shady in every sense of the word!...and I love it so far...because I want to see the TRUE Queen Bee Serena take her down! (one can only hope..cuz Serena's brother let me down on that issue)
4. Cute...besides they need venues where we get to see the fireworks with all of them together
5. Dair...for a short period of time...not end game. I think it would be ooc for her to fall in love with him...but when he's pissed at Vanessa (for tish)and she's pissed at Chuck (for endless streams of women) a short hook up might be satisfing.
