Yes, the candy was the clue. Remember, Alejandro said there was handmade candy in the package that Gibbs delivered? My bet is that it was the same candy that Gibbs' dad was unloading into the display jar, delivered by Gibbs himself to the store. She's there to kill dad and Gibbs is in the backroom waiting for her.

We don't know the time frame for when Paloma showed up at Pappa Gibb's place. Note the fudge. She offered Gibbs fudge at her place and Gibbs said "I've had this before". That last scene could be a flash back.

I loved the part at the end when Gibbs was talking to a memory of Shannon. It was a different side of the bad-ass Gibbs that we know but it was still good.
As for Paloma, her brother must be dead for her to hunt down Gibbs' dad, Jackson, but Jackson must have been waiting for her because earlier in the episode Gibbs gets a text asking 'Am I safe?'. So that either meant Jackson or Franks.

When I saw Muse Watson's name in the opening credits, an earthquake couldn't take me away from the show (stupid commercials, and all). Just sorry it was in the last minutes! I hope he survives this mess and continues to be a part of the show.

Quid pro quo. Gibbs killed her father himself. Perhaps she wishes to kill his father herself.
I don't think it will be all that easy to do, though. Jackson Gibbs has been warned, and one thing he is not is stupid.

Did any one else notice that the bedroom in Gibbs' house where he was looking through mementos looked like it was packed up for a move?

Gibbs called his father with a heads up. His Father had fought in the military so this wouldn't be his first life or death situation. Reynosa. She would have Gibbs betray every value he has to work for her and to protect his friends and family. The flip side would be to kill Gibbs. US Government has more money than Reynosa. Tactical teams can be hired and supported in response. In the US or there. Anyone hear of contractors that work covert ops, etc?

I agree. That had to be so hard on Ziva. I feel for her. I thought rule 51 was so cool. Obviously Hart really does like Gibbs. Well done finale and i can't wait till September! Does anyone think that HIBBS or TIVA will happen next season? i hope so!

I seriously worried about DiNozzo when he was "observing" Alejandro. The way it was shot was a bit ominous. I'll just note that I loved Gibbs's hugging Abby--it said "I love you, daughter" more than the words would have. And poor Ziva. Abby and McGee are her family, yes, but Gibbs and Tony mean more to her than anyone and they weren't there. Gibbs was actually planning to go, which I liked. And had dressed up for it, too! He and Tony had good reasons for not showing, but you could still see that Ziva was hurt by it; she didn't know why they weren't there.

When Paloma showed up in Pennsylvania at the end of the episode as the cliffhanger, I thought that that meant that her brother was dead (obviously by Franks), as she was only going to go kill Gibbs' dad herself IF he betrayed her, and all he'd done up until that moment was deliver the package like he was supposed to (since the Dean shootout was what the cartel wanted to happen anyway).
So, why did she go to Pennsylvania ... unless her brother was dead?
McGee: If you don't like my rules you can find someone else to drive you in. Tony: All I wanted was to stop for coffee. I was willing to treat. McGee: No one...
