I thought the Russians were going to get caught by the feds, I thought Stahl was goin to get away with being the ULTIMATE b****, I thought the club was going to kill Jax... With about 25 minutes left in the show, (when Jax signed the papers, but Stahl wouldn't sign until she saw Jimmy) I paused the DVR, rolled over & told my hubby I was going to sleep because I KNEW that whore was going to pull a stunt & rat him out to SAMCRO. I swore I would not watch the 4th season *LOL* I was pretty mad at the direction I 'assumed' the finale was taking. Well, in all awesomeness THAT'S when it got good! I too forgot Opie & the others weren't at the exchange for Jimmy. So, so glad he killed Stahl! Rewound that part like 5 times just to laugh. In season 2, Opie told her he would let her live "this time" or something like that when he had her at gunpoint about Donna's death. Chibs did a brilliant thing putting the IRA symbol on car. Shahl & Jimmy's deaths will never be solved if

Next season may provide for a very interesting story line. If Jaxs is able to read the letters who know where it may go. From season one thier has been a undertone that Clay and Gemma took John down. With Gemmas statements to Clay in the final show, it is almost certain those two did it. The old letters are the key, and in my opinion be used quite a bit next season. Just how long it takes to get to Jaxs is the question.
Loved the ending, it went almost exactly like I hoped! I was praying, on the edge of my seat that the club was in on this ´Jax being a rat business´ and thankfully they were! And the letters from Maureen nicely set up the next chapter! Oh and props to Ally Walker for being a BadAssMothafucker and finally gone from our lives! Now I just wonder if we pick up where we left off or when the guys get out of prison!? Thank u SOA for absolutely ruling!
thank you sunny for a minute i thought no one else including the reviewer had caught the fact that the club was in on jax's plan the entire time and their cries of indignation were staged...jax does admit to gemma in the letter that the club had taken a vote keep her in the dark and he even apologizes to her for it...on another note i think you're also right about jax not knowing about what gemma and clay did to john and that is what the storyline will be based on next season...all in all this was a kick-ass finale and i can't wait for season 4!!

Jax has NO idea about the letters yet - Tara was only unpacking the bag at the end of the episode, and the letters were right where Maureen Ashby left them.

I thought Jax said the club voted on him playing along with Stahl, it was right after Clay was calling him a rat. Jax told Gemma they voted on something so I thought they were all in on it. I'm going to watch it again with the closed caption on. That would explain why they were all laughing in the back of the truck as they were being hauled to jail and why Opie and Chibs were not with them. They had to be in on it with Jax or they would have beat his ass as soon as the doors were shut on the paddy wagon. Now that Stahl is dead will they even have a case against them?
I don't think Jax has read the letters yet or he would have said something to Gemma about cheating on his dad with Clay. How long will it be till Jax asks his mom if Clay might be his dad instead of John. She probably set John Teller up for Clay to kill him so he could take over the club and marry her, Gemma knew John was going to go back to Ireland to be with the woman he really loved. This is just my opinion.

This season was a struggle because I had no FX during the stalemate between Dish Network and the FX's parent company(thanks for nuthin, FOXNEWSCORP, the finale made it worth it. Props to the whole cast, and a sad goodbye to Ally Walker as Stahl, truly one of the most hissable bad-girls of recent memory. Jax is the beating heart of the story, and his fall or redemption is the center conflict of the series. That has been further complicated by a terrific turn of events in the finale. In real life, could that, would that happen, that Jax and the SOA leadership could pull off a ruse so completely? Probably not - and while it was a beautiful surprise, it was also a bit unbelieveable to this viewer. Very writerly. Still this season with the whole diversion to Ireland, was a bit of a fantasy for the most part - a departure (sort of like Mad Men Season 4 was in comparison to earlier seasons) but it was good - and now I can't wait to watch the season (series?) finale to FX's other (even

I loved the finale. Everything I wanted to see happen, happened. I wasn't surprised that Opie murdered Stahl - I think he needed that revenge to fully move on (emotionally) with his fiance. And I'm SO glad that Stahl is dead.
I don't think Jax has seen the letters. I think he has a lesser opinion of his father, knowing that he cheated on Gemma and fathered a daughter in Ireland, but I don't think he realizes that Gemma knew that Clay would have him murdered. It's been suggested from Season 1 that Gemma and Clay were involved with John's death, so that's not a surprise to the audience, but it will be a huge surprise to Jax.
I think Tara finding the letters will have her wanting Jax to get out of the club, fast. She won't want him to turn into Gemma/Clay. She's been wary of the club from the start, so all she needed was a push to get out, and the letters did that. I think next season will have Tara struggling with what it means to be in the club life, especially since she'l
So did Jax have a brother named Thomas? He's mentioned in the letters..Who is he..yet another storyline to my very favorite show.

AMAZING FINALE!!! I swear at the end I wasn't sure if I was going to burst into sobbing histerics because I was so happy Jax wasn't going to be killed or if I was going to Start laughing my ass off with the rest of them. The epesode had me so nervous I was bursting into cold sweats and everything. I was so happy when Sthall got whacked. :D outstanding!
Great finale. Sutter and company definately pulled a fast one on the audience with the club being in on Jax being a rat. I dont think Jax has a clue that Gemma and Clay were responsible for his dad's death. One thing to mention is that Gemma didnt want Jax to die, she tells Clay in the beginning of the episode that she doesnt want him to see the same fate that John did. Thats when I knew those two were responsible for his death. It truly changes thought how we perceive Clay and Gemma now. They are truly evil people regardless of the appearences they put up. Its a brilliant move by the writers, they did a similar thing with the Shield in the last 2 seasons when the audience, for the most part, went from liking Vic Mackey to the show revealing to us the scumbag he really was and turning the focus of the show from disturbed hero to downright evil bastard. I guessing that change took place last night when it comes to Gemma and Clay. Im guessing Tara and Jax will be at odds with tho

The IRA lords wanted Jimmy O dead, they said they'd supply the club with access to run guns to more powerful people who'd make them richer, clays whole retirement fund. The IRA wanted him dead, not in the custody of the US gov't. So freaking out that jax was a "rat" was all for the loss of big money and supply for the club. Now the club has the new connections to run guns, to Russians, I believe, thanks to the irish, and make more money, while serving only a short prison sentence, with Gemma in house arrest.
This is what I've taken from the season, my memory is a bit foggy, but I'm pretty sure the club is gonna start new deals with new people next season, while battling Hale who should be mayor of charming and wanting to develop the town.

firstly... AMAZING show... will go down in history as one of the best!!
secondly... i think you are wrong to believe that John teller is so innocent and was executed for not wanting to run guns and that gemma and clay are evil. its how it was made out from the begining.. but after evering thing this season i think it will come out that JT was losing it and probably killed himself. of course gemma hates him, I do TOO after hearing that he was in Ireland when his son died and gemma had to go through it alone. i think Jax will see that the letters and the manuscript are just the words of a man who didnt stick with his family. thats wat jax meant when he said hes not like his father!

edit: when i said jax had already read the letters i meant to say JT manuscripts. at the end of season 2 when he finished the book was when his suspicions arose that his father may have been killed. the last scene with the club in the car is the culmination of the ideas he has been mulling over for months, to try and find the truth but also the solution.

The way i saw the jax scene, after much watching and rewatching and pausing and debating, i think that jax has read the letters. Note the subtle theme that plays throughout the more recent episodes, where JT is narrating his letters over the storyline; that was done in the same way when he read the love letters to his mistress. In that episode, the narration played sporadically throughout the episode, but jax had already read the whole letter, so instead i think the JT narrations are to help the audience understand whats going through jax's mind that nobody else knows. AND FINALLY MY POINT! ::: jax has known the whole time, he still went through with the plans perfectly but he knows that there will be an imminent and inevitable conflict between jax and his parents. however id bet that the conflict is resolved happily because as many have noted - Jax is NOT his father, and over the past 3 seasons hes come to value the bonds of family immensely and more so than at any previous point in t

ummm...if you're going to review, at least pay attention. Jax hasn't seen the letter's yet. Tara found them first, while he was being carted off to jail
addendum: First paragraph, end. Murdered by Clay. Not Gemma. Gemma knew about it. Which is why when she thought that Jax was a rat for real, she told Clay "He can not be treated like his father."
wait... have you been watching the series since season one? Because I have, and I know for sure that it has been pretty clear since the first episodes where Jax sat reading his dad's journals on the roof of Teller-Morrow that John Teller was murdered.
Furthermore, in this lifestyle if you fuggin snitch you're a dead man, because if you tell one secret, you would probably sing for any pretty penny.
Also, Did you not see Clay order the hit in the first or second season on Opie's wife, Donna? Hi, The club pinned Donna's death on Opie, which is why in Season 3.13 he makes Stahl hold the steering wheel and he says to her, "This is what SHE felt." wow.
For someone who reviews the show, you seem like a noob.
