Greek Spoilers: Controversial Episode to Come

Greek won't be be exiting the airwaves without courting a bit of controversy.

Creator Sean Smith tells TV Line the sixth episode of his show's final season will tackle a relevant, albeit controversial, topic: the morning-after pill. The incident will take place after a female character gets carried away on Homecoming night.

Greek Final Season Scene

“I read a lot about it and wanted to make sure that we were accurate and respectful to the circumstances,” Smith says. “I also worked closely with the network, and they have a very strong relationship with the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unwanted Pregnancy, so we all felt comfortable moving forward.

“While this is one of our weightier issues for the show, it’s still the Greek version of it, which I’m really proud of."

Like the Friday Night Lights storyline last year that dealt with abortion, it's always admirable when a series doesn't shy away from a realistic scenario, even when it can create such strong views on both sides of an issue.

Look for this Greek episode to air on February 7.

its controversial because many people liken it to early abortion as well as the fact its not on a "racy" channel like the CW that does bigger issue things. I'm really looking forward to it, and I think its gonna be Rebecca and Evan!

If the show had been doing this earlier, they might have gotten more viewers and higher ratings! I'm excited.

I don't get how the morning after pill is controversial. It's just like a birth control method. We are in the 21st century, not in the Middle Age
