Greek: Casting for Cappie's Parents

Greek is on hiatus. The popular ABC Family show will return with new episode on January 12.

In the meantime, though, fans can get excited about this news: the series is casting for Cappie's mother and father!

Pledge Yourself

Producers sent out a notice this week, seeking an actor and actress in their late 40s or early 50s. The notice is looking for stars to plays characters described as...

Mom (a.k.a. April) is a free spirit who lives her life simply and in the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. She’s a good woman with an honest soul. Dad (a.k.a. Tobias) is a hard-core hippie — a spontaneous non-conformist who loves life and vegan cuisine.

Any suggestions for who should take on these roles?

Greek Review: "Friend or Foe"

The mid-season finale is here! In the final episode, called "Friend or Foe," some relationships were mended and some were potentially destroyed forever.

Interestingly, one friendship was saved by a selfless act and one friendship may be destroyed by a totally selfish one. It was Rusty who had to swallow his own pride to make steps to amend his ailing friendship with Dale, by letting Dale win in the battle bot competition.

As the "bigger man," Rusty realized that it was the right thing to do.

In contrast, Evan made a completely selfish move to betray Cappie and the Kappa Tau brothers just to gain a little respect from his brothers who were doubting his leadership potential. Evan is such a weak, pathetic person - but we love to hate his pathetic ways!

We weren't really left with any major cliffhangers at the end of this season... but there is some unfinished business: it's unclear whether Evan and Cappie will ever recover, and the ZBZ girls are holding onto a rather large secret with potential criminal implications! That is definitely enough to leave us wanting more Greek!

Read our full episode guide and tell us about your favorite moments from the season!

Let's go over a few of our favorite Greek quotes from the hour...

Rebecca: Well I guess it was inevitable. I want you to know that I rarely try and sleep with the same ex twice.
Casey: Thanks, Becks. I'm almost touched. | permalink
Cappie: We'll all be pals, like Harry Pottery, and you know, the other two. | permalink
Beaver: I hate crickets - ever since Pinnochio - they're too bossy. | permalink
Rebecca: Natalie, shouldn't you be protecting your pot of gold? | permalink

Midseason Return Date Scheduled for Greek

On Monday, Greek airs a fall finale that is NOT to be missed. Especially if you're a fan of Cappie and Casey.

But we've got exciting news beyond that: the show will go on hiatus and then return on January 25 - at 10 p.m.

Indeed, ABC Family is set to air its first-ever three-hour night of original programming, beginning on that date.

The block will kick off with The Secret Life of an American Teenager; followed by Make It or Break It; and then Greek. Which of these shows is your favorite?

Greek Review: "The Wish Pretzel"

WOW! Was tonight's episode not one of the best so far? There was so much drama going down at CRU, and all during a school vacation! There were so many things to love about this episode:

Did anyone notice the Amphora banner in the background? The acronym for the secret society is SECRET: Students Engaged in Charity and Recognizing an Enhanced Tomorrow - pretty cheesy, but I appreciate it.

Even though there was tension between Dale and Rusty, I really liked this storyline. Of course, we know they'll make up, but it's nice to see realistic story lines where friends have hiccups in their relationships and it's not all physics and giggles all the time. And some people think that science is just science - it's not!

There's a lot of personal drama going on behind the scenes - tons of emotions, and Rusty and Dale do a great job portraying the passion and betrayal of the scientific community.

The Wish-Pretzel Picture

The gang has the most pathetic Thanksgiving dinner ever - but who hasn't had one of those? I especially liked the microwaved pizza with turkey sausage, and of course, the pretzel wishbone (hence the title of the episode, "The Wish Pretzel") - getting the big end of the pretzel is much more rewarding than getting the larger part of a turkey bone.

Sam Page to Recur on Greek

Sam Page is great as playing a jerk. He shoved Lauren (and didn't pay her for sex) on Melrose Place a couple weeks ago; while he raped Joan on Mad Men last season.

The actor - who we presume is actually a nice guy - has now landed a major role on Greek. He'll play Joel, the local campaign manager for a congresswoman, for a number of episodes on season four. He'll share a connection with Rebecca.

Sam Page

As first reported by Michael Ausiello, Greek producers refer to the role as “McDreamy with a law degree.”

Think they found the right actor to fit that lofty praise?

Greek Review: "Fight the Power"

The Greeks are bitchy in so many ways in the newest episode of Greek.

This week, ZBZ tries to raise their falling stock by throwing a kick-ass mixer, Evan comes out to his brothers about his financial situation, and Cappie's relationship with Lana comes to a fizzle. And there is a lot of bitching and moaning from boys and and girls alike!

The ZBZ girls are constantly complaining that they don't have any good mixers, which puts a ton of pressure on  Ashley. So much so, that she makes some very questionable decisions in order to gain some popularity - seriously, offering to pay Gamma Psis electricity bill in order to get them to come to her party? That's what she goes to first? She couldn't think of anything less humiliating?

Speaking of complaining, Evan Chambers did a lot of it this episode! He told the brothers about giving up his trust fund, and now he thinks (and maybe he's right) that the brother's don't respect him as much, because all they cared about was the Chambers name.

Greek Scene

They are definitely gossiping about him behind his back like a bunch of little girls. Evan can't handle being ridiculed for one day -  seriously? Grow up! It's a little ridiculous though that he pushes Calvin to come out of the closet so the Omega Chi brothers will have something else to talk about. What a selfish tool!

At least Casey finds Evan's whininess attractive - but hopefully not too attractive, because we hope the Cappie and Casey romance story arc is coming to a head in the next show! How can you not love Cappie???

I mean, Casey is OK, and she had some pretty awesome moments in tonight's show (e.g. taking the blame for Ashleigh's disastrous decisions), but if it will make Cappie happy, then we're all for it. I think we're all rooting for a Cappie-Casey reunion. The previews for next week look promising!

We've also collected a handful of Greek quotes from the evening. Our favorite:

Evan: You know some people appreciate my sense of humor.
Ashleigh: Some people appreciate Crocs. | permalink
Dale: Hi, uh, I have a friend of mine I'd like to introduce you to. His name's Jesus and he pays much greater dividends than those dollar bills in your underpants. | permalink
Rusty: You see yourself reflected in her and you don't like what you see. Are you growing up?
Cappie: You shut your damn mouth. | permalink
Ashleigh: The Gamma Psis seem so nice with their cupcakes and their bunny mascot.
Casey: Bunnies look cute, then they bite you with their big sharp bunny teeth.
Ashleigh: And they sleep where they poop. | permalink

Greek Season Finale Scoop: A Kappa Tau Graduation

On the October 26 episode of Greek, Casey will choose between Evan and Cappie.

While fans get excited for that resolution, series creator Sean Smith spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the November 2 third season finale.

The ambitious episode is actually musical-based, as Smith explains:

"Our girls' story is centered around a traditional sorority competition called ‘Songfest.' [They perform] some big song-and-dance numbers as they go up against Gamma Psi to get the house back on top.”

Cast of Greek

Hence, the return of High School Musical actress Olesya Rulin. She portrays ZBZ pledge Abby, who Smith teases throws out some “great HSM references” throughout the hour. There's also this nugget:

“One of our Kappa Taus graduates. That’s right, I used the G-word," Smith said.

As always, we'll recap each episide in full after it ends; providing the latest Greek quotes and photos from the week.

Greek Recap: "The Dork Knight"

This week's episode of Greek was all about figuring things out and starting over:

For Casey, this meant spying on Cappie and Evan to find proof of their secret friendship; for Ashely, this meant figuring out how to get back into the rhythm with Fisher; and for Rusty and Dale, it meant moving on with their personal relationships.

Check out the full recap of the newest episode, titled "The Dork Knight."

Ashleigh and Casey Spy

As usual, we've compiled our favorite Greek quotes from the hour and listed them below:

Casey: So Fisher is officially off probation?
Ashley: Once again he is a full citizen of the United States of Ashley. | permalink
Rusty: She already has friends in New York. What, do they sit around Central Perk, talk about what to name Rachel's baby? | permalink
Ashley: You've never seen Clueless and you're a film major? I thought CRU had a good program. | permalink
Cappie: If our enemies find out that me and Evan are vigilante crime-fighters who protect the people of Cyprus from the dark forces of corruption, we'll be so screwed! | permalink

Greek: Casting for a Lawyer

It's worked rather well for Grey's Anatomy.

With that in mind, look for Greek to soon vast its own version of McDreamy, though this new character will be a lawyer, not a doctor.

According to Michael Ausiello, the series is seeking an actor to play, an adorable attorney in his 30s. He's worked for years with Rebecca’s dad in DC and is now a local campaign manager for a congressman.

Greek Recap: "Lost and Founders"

On last night's episode of Greek, Jordan is feeling lost in life, while the ZBZ girls seek donations from alumni during their founders weekend - hence, the title "Lost and Founders."

This week, Greek delivers another fantastic episode with plenty of ZBZ sisterly drama, romance, and of course plenty of humorous quips from Cappie.

Jake McDorman, Greek

Here's a rundown of our favorite Greek quotes from the hour:

Jordan: School's not for everyone.
Rusty: Well it should be. | permalink
