Loved this episode, and Hanson's confident introduction to a possible new show. As for the plot convolutions, big deal. We watch procedurals like 'Bones' and 'Castle' and even 'Fringe' not so much because of the plot, but because of the characters, and these characters seemed original and thoroughly fleshed out. I happen to like Saffron Borroughs, so I took her Ike in stride, but when I saw Michael Clarke Duncan as Leo, I knew that we would be in for some fun. His constant legal advice is a device that goes straight back to "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" - and using an existing franchise like 'Bones' rather than a straight up pilot means that more people will likely feel like I do: can't wait to watch 'Finder' on Fox!
I loved this episode and think The Finder would be great. Loved the guy who played Walter when he was Eddie Latekka on October Road (a GREAT show that the network placed opposite MNF). I found all the characters interesting...was not distracted by the accent on Ike. I would bet the questions viewers raise would be answered in a full series, but couldn't in an introduction such as this one. I thought the bathroom scene was funny...the Bones reaction was as usual priceless!

I think the episode was terrific! Good gosh people, get over your selves. This was one episode where they were trying out new characters for a NEW SHOW!! I hope the Finder finds it's way on the next seasons schedule!
I didn't think it was horrible. I definitely did NOT need the bathroom scene! Eew.
I liked Leo, and Ike was ok, except for how she kept mispronouncing words.
I may give this a chance when/if it gets picked up next season.
I will defnitely be happy to have a real Bones episode next week, though. I missed the squints - their roles were really minimized last night.
To Sue Ann: You are NOT the only one who couldn't get last week's review! I was afraid I was the only one. One of my favorite things to do on Fridays is read TVF's review of Bones and the associated user comments.
A little confused at first and missed the Bones team. Stayed with it to see where it was going. Not bad, but they need to work on the scripts and play between the characters. I would definitely give The Finder a chance if it comes on.

I agree - I was just plain bored during this show. Didn't like the toilet scene, hated the female Finder character (had difficulty understanding her accented lines at times), the new actors had no chemistry, and the storyline was drab and silly; also, missed my Booth and Bones.

I feel kind of cheated, because I wanted to watch Bones last night and had to watch a spin-off of The Finder. Ended up turning the t.v. off at 9:45 to finish my book. I may give The Finder a try when it debuts, just to see what they do with the concept. Last night I felt The Finder was more of a Bones/Castle/Mentalist clone, banking on the witty banter of a group of series characters with some sexual innuendo thrown in. The toilet scene was out of place--I got that Walter is an oddball right away, didn't need to see him on the can to prove it.

I like the show myself. The characters were interesting to me, and I would love to see them more fleshed out and given a chance to grow and develop. I would watch Finder if it did come out, and I hope it does.

I really disliked this episode, and thought it was one of the worst I've seen. In particular, Ike was just awful. Saffron Burrows doesn't normally talk like that - British people don't talk like that - so goodness knows what they were thinking. I had to skip all the bits when she was talking, as it was so painful. The Finder might possibly work as a show, but as others have said, it feels like a poor man's version of The Mentalist, so what's the point?

I didn't totally hate the finder characters- I think with some tweaking it could be cool. I hated they made him right about the coffee though. Like someone else said- sometimes he needs to be wrong and just plain paranoid. The girl was useless, they need to make her better or cut her.
I hated having a whole Bones episode gobbled up but I get why they did it. ABC did it with Grey's and Private Practice back in the day and everyone bitched about it then too. It's just the best way for them to gauge a show before a real pilot.
Like everyone else I saw little glimmers of the old Bones- you know, like when it was actually good. The medal and newspaper clipping was great for Bones and Booth's little story at the end was old time Booth. I am so sick of the ridiculous laughter and strange sense of humor they have all of a sudden made Brennan vomit all over us this season.
The past few weeks I've had a friend over on Thursdays and I'm actually embarrassed to watch Bones. I keep having

This was a jarring waste of time. To force feed Bones fans this badly written and not-well-thought-out pilot is awful. I am sad for us all if these characters (with their lack of chemistry) become reoccuring Bones cast members.
And I agree with the long shots while on the commode. What the heck was that about?!

This episode just confused me. What are his supposed "finder powers?" Everything he did a cop or FBI agent can do. He went into the guys house and learned about him, he called connections to get the medal, and he went diving. I think they shouldn't have tried to focus so much on the new characters and should have waited until the actual pilot when it could have been explained better. They tried to set up too much in too little time and it ended up being sloppy.

The cast of "The Finder" just felt like they were trying too hard to be cute. The girl with the accent no one understands. The legal-savvy giant with no compunction about assult and kidnapping. The over-grown and over-sexed child who can apparently accomplish miracles and find Brennan's tiny metal with nothing but takes forever to find a huge boat when he has the map.
It's not even just the characters. It's all the plot holes. It's the body he apparently transported from Florida to DC with no juristiction or chain of evidence. It's the fact that apparently his companions can just abandon their jobs in the middle of the day to fool around with him. And yes, it's the fact that they're constantly in a beautiful bar with no customers and apparently the only source of income for the trio stem from FBI consulting fees and the girl's bartending gig but they own a private plane.
I hate how the show made this guy some all-knowing savant. Bones and Booth work because they're both flawed

Good review. Am I the only one who has never been able to access your review of last week's episode? I have tried from two different computers, for a solid week. At least twenty times.
Yes, you nailed it on this being the first time in a long time that Brennan has displayed genuine emotion. The insane-sounding laughter she has been doing in the car chats between herself and Booth all season has been grating on my nerves.
This episode tried to throw in too much setup for my taste. And I suppose that Iraq War injuries will be the next Vietnam vet cliche used to explain various forms of bad behavior and insanity for the next thirty years in television and movies. The idea just makes me tired. I resent the way show business exploits genuine injuries for sensationalism, scary stories, or weird behavior. They just referred vaguely to it, as

Don't takeover my Bones for this crap. I may have watched if the characters were introduced on Bones and then they had their own show but to takeover a whole episode is ridiculous. It's bad enough that Bones is often a 60 minute excuse for a Toyota commercial or Microsoft ad but turning it into a whole other show is a travesty. I will continue to watch Bones but the Finder will never get my eyes again. They went about it the wrong way. The only nice part was it eventually ended.
