Bones > Bones Season Finale Round Table: "The Change in the Game" > Comments Page 2
It seems like they are going to be like an old married couple, skipping the entire romance period. the past two seasons B & b have had very little chemistry between them (or forced when necessary not like the natural chemistry of the earlier seasons) I hope they restore some of the chemistry so that they actually appear like a real couple, not just the "look" from Booth every now and then. I don't want to see Angela and Jack again, because I personally was really bored with them because they were just too perfect. Hopefully Angela will be Brennan's best friend again like she was the last two episodes. I have really missed their friendship, Hopefully, Booth will be like earlier seasons of Booth and friendlier to Squints. From what SN said in other interviews, when the show comes back everyone will already know about them, so like their getting together, we will miss out on all of that. SN believes we should imagine all of this to write our own story. Apparently we got all of this th
Since the end of S6, i often thought that we didn't see them sleep together. We just saw Brennan tell Angie with a smile that suppose they made love together... After that, so strange that we didn't saw Brennan say the words "we had sex" ?!?! She's so honest, she's not affraid of words... why didn't we see her tell Angie that they had sex in front of us, big fans of BB ????? Is that a HH plan ? i'm not sure but i wouldn't be surprise. We know that many people want to see BB say I love you and they're so cute at each end of every episode... and on THIS important moment of the show, nothing about love ? Only a "I'm pregnant" ????? And they're was place for love words when we saw BB so sad the nigth Vincent died and we saw Brennan cry in Booth's arms and in HIS bed. We didn't see anything about that special thing waited for 6 years and we saw Brennan tell Booth she is pregnant. How ??? i can be wrong but, HH is always surprising us and maybe they just fell asleep and nothing happened
Maybe they will skip the pregnancy announcement, by the time they start shooting season 7 Emily will be quite pregnant already
I love Bones, but that does not mean that I am blind to its faults, since S3 the writing has been decreasing in quality and it was not until mid S6 that it started to improve, also thanks to DBs directing. The finale, well, if we are led to believe they are a couple, then why the distance between them, especially when they are alone. Their attitude towards each other seems forced, uncomfortable and I'm left feeling cheated. I cannot wait for S7 but I still find I am astonished that it was renewed. Not going to watch the Finder show, and HH and SN we all know that you do not care what your loyal fans of your TV show think.
Sorry to be a stickler, but "The End in the Beginning" was the Season 4 finale.
Having said that, I saw it coming but totally agree with the statement, "[...] when I didn't immediately find myself disappointed with the decision to go the pregnancy route, I figured it must make sense."
They've brought them together without dealing with any of the previous baggage. I kind of think this is good in that the show would work with them acting as an old married couple -- rather than a perpetual honeymoon and "cute" sparring. That would be the moonlighting curse (that they couldn't become a normal couple due to all that came before). I think it will be interesting to see how this plays out -- and I predict it will work, whether they marry or not.
I have enjoyed this whole season along with all of the rest of the seasons. It is about time that they have brought these two together and stopped dancing around them. I didn't need to see a love scene between them but some type of affection, hand holding or even a kiss after bones tells booth that she is pregnant and it is his, toward each other in the finale would have been nice. But I can't wait to see how next season will go with this.
makes sense that the writers want something different to bring these two together instead of the typical sex scene...but this kinda cheapened the whole will/they won't. It like here's the crescendo, and it kinda sucks.
I kind of wish they'd named the baby Jack Stanley Hodgins IV, because thats just such a record.
I agree that Sweets will figure out Brennen is pregnant, but I can see them doing a funny episode in which he figures it out but is told not to tell anyone, but Sweets doesn't realize Booth is the Father and someone else like Cam or worse Daisy, if she is back, ends up telling him and he's shocked.
Sounds like a lot of you guys want is sex scenes and more hints at a relationship between Booth and Brennan.. I am happy there wasn't. Would have felt cheap and unnecessary, almost like gratuitous fanservice if they had have done it... as though they would be saying "Alright, you waited 6 seasons for it, here's your reward!". Coulda been really annoying to see some forced courtship or weird change in the way they acted around each other, which would have deterred heavily from a large reason I watch Bones: the interesting cases. That everyone else noticed a change was enough for me, I don't think we need more distractions from the premise of Bones. I also thought it was a really solid season, besides how forced Hannah seemed when she was in the mix. Hannah's relationship with Brennan was awesome.. I really enjoyed a lot of their dialogue as friends, but I was pretty happy to see the last of her scenes with Booth. She definitely helped reveal a lot about him in relationships.. not knowin
I agree the way this pregnancy is handled next season will make or break it. I personally think because they haven't wrote convincing storylines selling B/B they've always made stupid jokes out of it that'll break it. They haven't wrote B/B in a good light at all yet they think they have with all these girls flailing their arms about it. But when a group of people are only excited about the ship there is something wrong with your show. You can't just make this one group happy and screw the rest of the fans.
This show peaked long ago. I can't believe they got another season.
They wont write a decent relationship because they haven't written a decent storyline for whatever they are now.
They claim to not believe in the Moonlighting effect but they're doing that by falling into the same trap by copying them! Them and X-Files.
Stop calling this show original. You can't be an original show by copying shows now can you?
I loved the season finale, and have enjoyed the season! Can't wait for the next one : )
I thought it was great! The bowling alley scenes were hilarious (although I wanted to punch that obnoxious little redhead!). My quibbles would be these:
1. The wrapping up of the case was lame (the shoe guy killed the vic because his feet stank?) Although, I recognize that this particular episode had little to do with the case at hand.
2. I agree with other posters about the lack of any kind of demonstration from Booth/Brennan that anything substantial has changed between them. I understand being discreet, but couldn't they at least have held hands while they were walking together in that last scene? Definitely NOT looking for full-on sex scenes, just hand-holding, significant glances - something!
I first started watching Bones in Season 4, and after getting all caught up on earlier seasons on DVD, I haven't missed a single episode. I will definitely keep tuning in next year to see how all this plays out. I can almost hear the Jeffersonian team shouting "FINALLY!" when they h
It took me a few days but I am over my disappointment on how this couple finally came together. I hope I don't have to use my imagination (reference to Stephen Nathan, producer) to see how their relationship develops. I can see lots of fun scenes with sciency Brennan and romantic Booth but if the producers bring me a season of angst and conflict, it will be over for me.
Also, I was absolutely insulted when SN said to go somewhere else to see my porn. I don't consider a little affection between the couple who was touted to have the best sexual chemistry on tv, porn and I dont need graphic bed scenes that we had to endure with Booth/Hannah necessary.
The excuse some say they didn't do any love scenes out of difference to ED's present condition is lame. A hug or cheek kiss would have done it for me. I don't watch tv to IMAGINE a story they are trying to tell.
Cheated and disappointed. Six seasons and they don't show us the love scene. That's plain mean. They threw in the baby story because the writers can't figure out how to make them a real couple and keep it interesting. It's not that it couldn't be done. TPTB didn't think they were capable of writing it and that's plain sad. Fans deserved better. I loved seasons 1 through 4 but 5 and 6 have been disappointing.
I hate to write this but some of the posters here act
as if Brennan and Booth are real people. I agree with
Mary. This has been the worst season for Bones.
The target audience is females 13-17 year old. Who else
can say this was a good season.
I enjoyed Bones seasons 1-4.
I doubt that I will watch it next season as faithfully as I
have in the past.
Since I am no longer an adolescent female I want more from
a long running TV show than what Bones has developed into.
Bowling alleys where I live are filled with every type of person showed in finaly. Its not insulting, if its a fact. Spot on! How do you want to show women in labor?A silent birth as found in Scientology? Please! Women scream, yell, and cant even stand the sound of the husband breathing while in labor, and most men ARE simpering, aim to please, types while watching their baby come into the world. The reason why a lot of labor scenes are portrayed like this is nine times out of ten, this is exactly what happens. I am so sick of people criticisms saying these ideas aren't fresh, or
I like the proprietary way Brennan takes and hangs on to Booth's arm -- or, too, the way she says the stuffed bunny is from Booth too. And I like how Booth is sort of pleased about it. He loves her. Brennan, though, in these last 3 episodes, how they're portraying her, reminds me of that line in the movie, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" when the boy compliments her by saying she's not like other girls and Buffy answers, "Yes I am." And so is Bones.
Loved the first show and loved the last show. It's one of the best shows on TV and I certainly hope it's coming back for another few years. Them raising a baby is going to be fascinating to watch.
Considering the confusion re:any sort of coupling, I heartily concur with Heidi's conclusion about the sperm bank. I think the public could handle that far better than having been duped by them having a real relationship. After the extremely bad choice of bringing in Hannah (a likeable character) and having Booth fall in love with HER, the fans felt cheated and confused as to where the show was going.
In my opinion, they would have been better off using the previous episode as the finale. Friendship and comaraderie in the face of constant danger kept the tone of the show we've come to love.
Bashing bowlers was insulting to so many people. Tacky, tacky cliche and in very bad taste and I'm not even a bowler. How dare the writers be so pompous.
And please, please, please when will TV shows stop playing delivery scenes with the women being reduced to screaming shrews yelling threats and complaints to whimpering, simpering, hand-wringing fathers-to-be. It's not funny, it's no
I loved the final episode! there is so much I can foresee happening next season. Bones is so much different than any of the females on the show and it is going to be interesting to see how hormones affect her and her friendships. As for her and Booth, know there havent been a lot of kiss/tell/show, but it was there. Anyone in real life, that is truly in love with someone else, could have picked that up in their characters. Nigel dying tore my heart out, seeing her bring the flowers, singing his favorite song, shes changing. Bones is too set in here ways. the only way to explain that? They fell in love.... Or let me rephrase. they finally admitted that what they felt was the real deal. I think it is awesome. The writers have done a great job. Incorporating a real life pregnancy into a show isnt the easiest task, but at lest we arent going to be watching shots of her hiding behind desks and tables, etc. When her emotional wall comes down, the show has the opportunity to go a
I think they held back a little too much out of fear of foreshadowing the final moment, Bones and Booth did not act any differently, no secret looks or uncomfortable pauses... the only person they used to salt the relationship was Max, and they didn't use him enough in this ep, in my opinion. The final moment was priceless, though. Bones' discomfort at having to tell him - clearly she was afraid of his reaction - and Booth's reaction, from shock to that wonderful slow boyish grin, and Bones' relieved laugh/tears. Great ending to a finale that should have had a little more emotional punch on the BB front. Hodgins and Angelea's story was nicely played out; funny, touching and sweet. Loved the cap and the baby's name!
Are you high Mary. Every season is , better than the last, and this season is no exception. Once I found about Emily's real life pregnancy, I couldn't wait to see how they were going to work it into the show considering her characters aversion to the idea of having a child. I was thrilled Booth is to be the father. Its the relationships in this show, as well as their quirks that make this show, with murder mystery as an added bonus. Cant wait to see the child once it can talk to see their different approaches to parenting.
Mary T. nailed it! Based solely on how this season ended, I have serious doubts that I'll be back for the next season. I've removed Bones from my DVR season. Pity-- this used to be my favorite show.
It was poorly done.... as many have written not
even a kiss or gently touch after so many years.
I read that one of the producers told viewers
if they want porn go somewhere else.
If I remember there were some bedroom scenes
with Brennan and Sully also the dream bedroom
scene with Booth and Brennan.
Hannah and Booth were in bed more than out of
Yet the producers either just wanted to get
the fans upset. Or just plain poor writing and
directing...this whole season was just poor
writing and directing.
For me, I have had it with Bones.... I hope season
7 is the last. The onging relationships are
way over the top of anyone over 15 years old.
I wonder if the plan is to end Bones next season
and replace it with The Finder.
